Caffe L'affare reviews
66A great bustling environment, this place is popular because its popular. Unfortunately the food is done as simply as possible, leaving little room for error or taste. Which is a pity, not up to Italy standard, let alone Wellington. I'd go back for coffee and cabinet food, but won't will definitely be saying ciao Bella to the a la carte menu. Buon apetito
Good size for breakfast if you're starving.
A bit noisy if you are looking to have a quiet time.
Good place for breakfast or lunch. They're serving a variety of beautiful products and make a lovely coffee. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I really recommend this place for a visit.
Had lunch there & was very impressed with the amazing staff (Kate & Mauro). Food was delicious & the coffee was great. Service was prompt & very friendly. Definitely recommend L'afarre to anyone looking for quality food, coffee and service.
Very nice place. Good service. Convenient location. Enough parking options. Absolutely fantastic coffee! I relished the food. Certainly worth visiting with friends or in a group.
Used to be THE place in wellington. Still good for beans, and has a repair shop for coffee equipment, but the cafe itself feels tired and dark. Mostly filled with people who have never gone anywhere else
We were in Wellington at the weekend and were taken here for breakfast on Saturday morning. There was a wait for a table (about 15 mins) but definitely worth the wait! Best eggs Benedict we've ever had. So good that we went back Sunday to have it again (another 15 min wait for a table). The wait to get a table is a sure sign that this is a place you need to go to. A well-oiled machine with a cool vibe and friendly staff. Loved the decor too.
This is one of those places that you must visit when in Wellington city. The atmosphere was great, food awesome and the coffee, perfect! 5/5
We had an Amazing server, Annalise, she is an absolute asset to cafe l'affare, and took the time out to make sure we were leaving happy customers, also she was very helpful when we had a wee hiccup with our order and put everything right within mere moments. I throughly recommend this company and there supreme coffee and service, well done employing Annalise she is definitely well worth every cent she is paid and more, I look forward to visiting again when we are up from Nelson next. Well done Laffare team. Amazing
Wonderful decorated-with-sculptural works of art, varied seating spaces, delicious selection of dishes, yummy drinks, I had pomegranate soda
Salmon eggs Benedict was average, we found the potato hash and the smoked salmon too salty however, the hollandaise was nice. The seafood chowder was nice, could have been a bit creamier. The coffee was great and the waitress explained how to drink the V60 coffee:)
Service not so friendly, not warming not welcoming not very NZ but it's famous coffee shop in Wellington roaster so they don't need to. Otherwise coffee and food good
Went for lunch yesterday and got greeted with 'there's is 25 minute wait on food ' We opted for cabinet food. One of our choices (salmon pie) did not taste fresh, salmon overly strong. Waitress could not have been less interested. Mentioned it again on paying and they took it off our bill. Good result, coffee great but service will not see us back.
Nice enough meal but nothing extraordinary. The waiting staff were good, apart from the arrogant knob who decided to have a 5min chat with his friend while supposedly finding us a table and then dismissed my approach and carried on chatting when I was asking if he'd forgotten us. In the meantime other customers who arrived after us had the good fortune to be served by someone else and where shown a table before our guy deemed us worthy of his attention. Luck of the draw I suppose
Honestly a great example of how a proper New Zealand Coffee show should look and operate. We had awesome service from the moment we walked in, great food and decent coffee. The service was noticeably attentive and quick. The food was thought about and simple done really well is what it's all about for me. Would go here again when in Wellington. Tops!
Right across College St from Moore Wilson's in Wellington.
Buzzy (not a typo) atmosphere, great food, fantastic coffee and quick, attentive service.
We will be back!
The coffee was pretty standard, quite strong, would recommend to get bigger size.
The ambiance was great however most staff seemed unhappy that day
Everything was fantastic! Service was top notch, coffee was perfect and the best Eggs Benny I've had in a long time. No complaints at all from us. We all enjoyed it.
Ambience was lovely.coffee Good.had a Vienna gr8. Soy Mocha I needee to aaknfor Hot water as it was too warm. Food bit pricey for what you get but still yum.
Would return and try their lunch menu
Great service and coffee, big breakfasts, could do with some lighter breakfast options. Even the cereal is heavy going, although delicious.
