On 29 December, we checked the Caffe L'affare website which indicated that you were open for business. We arranged for 6 of us to meet there for lunch. Two people paid $5 for parking. Then when we turned up at your premises, you were closed. We were not impressed - in this day and age, people should be able to rely on website information being accurate and current. Other people also turned up at the same time and expressed annoyance, having also checked in advance on your website.

Super busy cafe in the weekends, didn't have to wait too long for a table. Staff were efficient. Eggs Florentine on hash brown was okay, spinach was stringy and hash browns were soggy, Hollandaise was so so. Hot lemon honey and ginger was excellent.

Friendly staff. Food nice but nothing memorable. Coffee was not that great. Maybe I just lucked out as most people say good coffee

Delicious hakanoa chai and massive slices! Might I say, the chocolate brownie with a spot of yoghurt hit the spot perfectly! The brownie had a delightfully crunchy top (not too thick, not too thin) and a wonderfully moist centre Would I go here again? Absolutely

The BEST decaf coffee beans - fresh and glossy right to the end of the bag!

I used to buy another NZ brand available from the supermarket until I realised they are now owned by a big Dutch company.

It's L'affare for us from now on.

Always a great experience, lovely coffee, friendly & engaging staff. Enjoyed a nice quinoa salad, a first for me - really nice.

Great coffee, friendly staff. Pretty noisy, which my friend loved - we were there with her 18mnth old and she said the noiser the place the less awkward she felt if he played up child friendly

This place must have changed ownership or kitchen staff because everything has gone downhill. Burnt coffee, poor presentation, absolutely disgusting enidable mashed avocado that has more olive oil in it than a field of olive trees combined, toilets were disgusting and it took an exceptionally long time to get our food. Really really disappointed in the food. Staff were friendly and helpful. Please do not go here if you are a foodie and want to enjoy tasteful, well presented Wellington cafe food.

I used to love this cafe, haven’t been for a couple years, since the remodel, food is poorly presented and flavour less with very little care given. It also took along time to come and the coffee was burnt.

Awesome awesome awesome! The food here is of a consistently high standard in either takeaway or dine in options. It’s usually pretty busy but they turn the tables over quickly.

Really nice. They were super busy, so we kept getting orders from other tables.
Food was really nice.

Decent enough service but disappointing coffee selection. For a place with such pedigree and so many amazing different brewing methods on show and beans for sale they offeres only a single 'house blend' made by espresso machine. Was looked at like a space alien when inquired if they had a pour over available.not a strange request in a coffee shop.

Had a very nice breakfast here. While the breakfast menu is quite small, the food was really yummy, the eggs Benedict were perfect, the buns very fresh. My coffee was a tad cold though, and I wouldn't expect that from THE cafe of a well-known national coffee producer. The heavy unheated cups probably cool down the coffee too quickly. I've been offered a refund or a new coffee. So this was a mixed experience.

I'm not sure how this place could get such stunning reviews when the customer service is so horrendous. Every one of the staff were rude, sarcastic and unapologetic for any mistakes they made (including a fantastic one with payment which they made clear they blamed us for) The food is the only reason this warrants a 1 star. Avoid at all costs.

Love the make over of l'affare! It's now brighter and lighter inside with lots more room. The counter and menu options for food are great and is now one of my regular coffee meet spots. The menu allows you to build your own breakfast which is great when you want a change

Gusto coffee was amazing, great food and smoothies. Staff were friendly with us and our children. Best coffee roaster in Wellington!

Did I visit for breakfast or a taste of culture? I think perhaps culture because the one time I tried eggs Benedict previously (wee cafe on the Broadway, Woodford Green, Essex) I thought they were great and had high hopes for these. But no. They were sloppy, and there was some very strange slice of meat in them. I really ought to have asked, but cultural vibe in there somehow took up all my attention. I don't drink coffee, therefore unable to comment. Possibly a shame, because the coffee experience mixed with the vibe is probably well matched, especially if you wear liberty shirts. Reasonably pleasant service.

I like the environment, the atmosphere, the services, coffee and food. Desert wise abit too sweet. Overall is a very nice place to enjoy your meal.
