Fidel's Cafe

Regularly return time and again for breakfast on the weekends. Great service and its always busy but with at most a ten to fifteen minute wait it's definitely worth it. I don't tend to stray to far from a big breakfast and coffee but my partner will usually have hollumi on toast which is delicious also. Would recommend to anyone wanting great food along with happy and friendly service.

Nice place. Confusion in my order led me feeling over charged. I made a small swap request ended up being charged for an extra.
Nearly $45 for a brunch and coffee not cheap.
But been before always happy.
They get busy so pick your times.

Very warm and welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and fast service. My partner and I had a very delicious meal. Mine was the halloumi burger (loved) and my partner ordered the beef and bean Nachos which she also loved. I suggest trying any of the milkshakes All up 10/10

HolyS! The baked Spanish eggs for brunch were insane!
Every bite got better and better, the eggs were perfectly cooked, runny middles, the potato was crispy and fluffy, the bacon was, well bacon! Perfection! And add cheese, wow! Bjesus!

Very cool cafe! Atmosphere is really enjoyable and the coffee is some of the best I’ve had. I normally have a little milk in my coffee, but I didn’t even want to add milk to the coffee because it was so delicious. We also tried the breakfast burrito and the chicken and waffles, both which were delicious. The staff here was really friendly as well. Overall it’s just an awesome little cafe with great coffee and food. What more could you want?

The place is so packed that I didn't dare to move. Prepare to starve before your food comes Cos serving time is very long during lunch time. Food is good but not surprisingly good.

A bit expansive for what it offers.and the pizza, gosh, I want to forget it. Price and pizza apart, it still deserves 3 stars!

Relaxed atmosphere, interesting space, what we had was very yummy (Spanish baked eggs). Staff was nice and bonus that you can vape!
The only minus is that we ordered juices thinking they are freshly made, but they were from small bottles. $8 for a few sips.

Had coffee and a muffin in the morning everything was amazing. Muffin was still slightly warm from the oven and coffee was one of the best I've tasted ever. Waitress that brang my coffee and muffin was kinda cute. 5 stars all round!

Very tasty baked eggs here! Burned the roof of my mouth, but that's my own fault.

There is a sign on the wall that tells you to relax and wait to pay at the table. Ignore it and either ask for the check or walk up to the register to settle up. The waitress was super considerate and didn't rush the check on us, but we were waiting per the instructions on the sign.

Great coffee (flat white) and cabinet food, vibrant atmosphere and awesome service. Definitely need to visit again on my next trip to Wellington and try out other items on the menu.

Building was also hard to miss even on a very rainy day.

Definitely the stand out cafe of Cuba Street which is high praise with all the other talent around it. Had to go back a second time for the eggs benedict as we couldn't stop thinking about it. Can be a bit of a wait surfing peak times but that's just indicative of the quality you are getting.

Always have loved this place. Use to be my local back when I was at uni. The atmosphere haven't changed and the food is still delicious. Milkshakes are still the best in nz

I had the vegan breakfast here and an amazing coffee. There are so many vegan cabinet options that I wished I'd tried when I was there. Such a stylish place great food. Really nice and attentive staff. Who chooses the music because it was so awesome! Try the hash brown it's the best.

I went for their signature fried chicken, which tastes like it was marinated in buttermilk until sufficiently tender. Most places don't marinate their chicken enough, so it's refreshing to find a place that does this properly. The chicken is then coated in cajun seasoning before being battered an fried, which gives the chicken a spicy full taste that I've not had in any other places. Truly a must try if you're here.

Good food, great table service, price was competitive. I felt like I was back in Cuba vacationing as a rich European. I got the Fidel feast and a latte. The latte was amazing and the feast was more than filling.

Definitely a good place to eat, I'm local and I've been coming here for years but have been out of the area for a few years and recently went back to see if it had changed. Pleased to see its still the same with a slightly different menu but excellent food at a very reasonable price.

Always great to grab awesome coffee and food in-house or takeaway. Cuba St favourite for many years!
