Jasmin Licensed Chinese Restaurant

Food was amazing, the best Chinese food I have had. Service was exceptional from all the staff.
The only issue was other diners unsupervised children running around the restaurant unchecked by their parents. Staff were very helpful moving us to a quieter part of the restaurant.
I highly recommend this restaurant for old school food quality and service.

The dishes here are absolutely delicious. Love everything we ate here. We will definitely be back:)

This Chinese restaurant has been in the same location for over 25 years, and I simply love it. The decor is simple and basic, but the food is authentic and amazing. We love their regional Chinese specialities. They do offer their Anglicized Chinese versions, too. Generous portions. Definitely value for money. Drinks are reasonably priced. Unpretentious good food and my pick for Chinese in Wellington.

Slow to take orders due to seemingly being understaffed, place was very busy, but once ordered food and drinks came fast and was delicious.

Food was good but small portions the lady serving us was hard to understand and the meal was not what we asked for but good taste made up for it i guess

The best Chinese food in New Zealand! Staff are very friendly and will take care of you. The food is always amazingly delicious. Support your local.

Loved it great service and delicious food. I felt really looked after by staff who were very helpful with excellent food reccomendations and getting food out quickly so we were not late for a show. I would highly recommend Jasmin.

Very disappointed, I order a mogolian fish dish, and come out with a different dish, I understand the waitress make mistake.instead of apologising she just make excuses.

I've come to really enjoy eating at this restaurant. Staff are really friendly, prompt & attentive at the right times. Massive variety of meals and reasonable prices. In a group or on your own, it's a good spot to park up & have a feed!

Delicious authentic Chinese food, probably the best in Wellington. Food does take quite long to prepare but so worth the wait

Absolutely amazing place to go for dinner! The staff were amazing and so friendly and the food was just delicious. It didn't feel too heavy (even after 3 mains, 3 appetizers and 2 desserts between 2 people) and it is because the quality of food was perfect.

41 years this restaurant has been opened and it took me 27 years to finally try it. Wish I had gone sooner!

Do yourself a favour: leave the buffet to the uninitiated. Buffet is never the right choice.

Lunch or dinner, go with the menu entrees. Very authentic Chinese. Their Ma Po Tofu is spot on, as are their spring onion pancakes. The sizzling beef is a treat.

Grab a couple Tsing Taos and enjoy the fare.

We’re sited immediately but after 15 minutes of wait they have not even check what we wanted to order. After we asked how long to wait the answer was “you can wait 10 more minutes or leave”. Disgustingly disappointed. Never again.

The worst meal ever! The food is overpriced, the portion size is pretty small. Will never come back again! Highly not recommend!

I have been coming here since I was a little kid and it's truly a hidden gem for Chinese cuisine in Wellington. Run by the same lady all these years, the best thing about Jasmin is the consistency - something a lot of other Chinese restaurants in the city struggle with. Every time we come here, the service is friendly and the food is fresh and tasty.

A great example of this is their Cantonese steamed whole fish.

This is so often done poorly at other Chinese restaurants because it will likely be one of many fish that's been purchased ages ago to cut costs and has been sitting in the freezer for ages and you can taste immediately that the texture and flavour is off.

At Jasmin, the owner buys these in small quantities every few days and every single time we have ordered this, for years, it has been perfect.

This restaurant is hidden away but well worth the visit. It's a little bit of a step back in time as it's a bit old school but that's what makes it kinda cool. Very good prices and amazing tasting food is what always brings me back when I'm in Wellington for business. It's my go to every time.
