Jasmin Licensed Chinese Restaurant reviews
56Fantastic place tucked away up the stairs. Food excellent, good portions, reasonably priced drinks. Toilets are like a trip to the set of Towering Inferno but in a wonderful way.
What a great place! BYO, food is amazing and it’s not expensive! Ideal to go with a group and get lots of dishes and just go hard out enjoying each bite!
I have been eating here 1981 and it just gets better. The salted chilli squid is just fantastic. This place is a wonderful reminder that Wellington in the 80's wasn't the food desert some millenials now like to pretend. There was a host of restaurants like Esters, the sycamore tree, the Tokoh Baruh, marbles and they weren't serving overpriced Cuba Street's topsalad strewn junk
.
Cheap and nasty Chinese food. Exactly what you'd expect from the place on the corner. Service was alright but not great. Desserts where rather bland. A bowl of jelly and some fruit. Eh.
Fresh ingredients, Hong Kong cook, taste top notch. Of course price is on the high side, but definitely value for money
Excellent Chinese restaurant. I have eaten here a few times now and make it a priority to eat here everytime I come to Wellington. The food is fantastic, service is excellent and prices are reasonable. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Wellington, never anything less than excellent.
To be honest I could probably have cooked just as good a meal myself if I was home in Auckland but it was 9.30 pm and I am sure they just wanted to go home. But greatful that we were able to grab a meal anyway
A visit to Jasmine Garden is one of our 'must do's when visiting Wellington. Some of the best Chinese in New Zealand.
And the owner remembers me every time, although we visit infrequently
Like most of the small-town Chinese restaurant, the food here is pretty generic and expensive. The half duck served during the meal contains more bones than meat.
Looking for a nice meal after a long drive.staff were busy but very helpful, entree of scollops was delicious, served quickly and our mains of satay chicken on a sizzling plate and chicken and shrimps with veges were full of flavour and well cooked.thankyou.would dine again for sure.
Yum! Fantastic quality Chinese food in retro decor restaurant. Staff very friendly and welcoming and tables are cleared promptly. Really enjoyed the ginger stir fried chicken, lemon chicken, combination chow mein - actually all dishes were spectacular and cooked to perfection. My group dined here twice in one week as they were all impressed and wanted to come back. If you're craving Chinese food - go here.
Well balanced between price and quality + quantity. Just cost you $17 for a buffet, typical food and soup, but dessert!
Staff are kind and actively refill food (cook new food in fact!) and soup even we arrived ~2: 00 which they are going to finish.
If you are hungry don't mind spending bit more it's really a nice choice.
I don't like Chinese but I did tipped for their homely service.
Excellent quality Chinese meals with decent sized portions. I had sweet and sour pork and a small combination fried rice and it was more than enough for me (had leftovers). Overall it was a very succulent Chinese meal and I would return again.
Paid nearly $30 to get food that I wouldn't even pay $10 for. Simply wasn't tasty, and felt like something I would get at a takeaway.
Waiting time is too long. I only dined in a few times (all invitations for farewell dinners, depressing nough?) And found hair in my food. Then they replaced the meal and after a very long wait got the replacement and it too had a hair. Perhaps it was the secret ingredient or something. Never going back
I had my lunch there today and enjoyed the food. However, when I finished eating and about to pay my bill, politely I ask the girl which is one of their servers if I can pay now and she said in a yelling voice " Go in the front! " with a look in her eyes. I felt so embarrassed as there were lots of people around. I was so disgusted on how she acted.
