Currently in store waiting for order, just saw the cook taste some meat which isn't a problem. The problem comes whe I seem him lack his fingers and continue cooking. He's not wearing gloves and he's touching people's food with those fingers he's just locked when he removes the flat bread from the hot plate. In a covid world, that's potentially fatal for some

Food (Halal too), location, vibe is always great and delicious

But the staff (I was served by a young male) at front counter needs to pay full attention to customers when taking orders as he only half listened and talked alot to other staff. So that's why only 4 stars.

Quite disappointed with salads we ordered. Chicken was cracked and dry. The meal had a maximum of 60 grams of salad, most of the leaves were was wilted and brown. There was much more sauces than salad (to compensate the dry chicken?).

Sauces were tasty, to save this from being a one star.

For $17.50 I expect much better. If you are located closer to Lower Hutt I recommend Arzum turkish. All items on their menu are a few dollars cheaper, and their salads ($15-$16) have easily quadruple the salad.quality of food is equal.

(Meal also comes with Turkish bread missing from photo)

Clean establishment with very fresh food, generous portions, delightful staff and a cozy ambience - and well priced to boot! 4 mains, 4 drinks and 3 desserts at 120$.

Definitely going back!

Staff had no clue what customer service is. Waitress did not come to our table to take our order. Waitress was seen talking and laughing until she noticed that we were at the cashier waiting to order and then said to go back to our table and she will come. Do not appreciate getting eye rolls and then talking to their work colleagues in their own language in front of us. Other than that, food was not too bad 6/10 but it was better with original owners. This really shows how customer service can make a bad experience on the food. Would not be returning.

Very poor service. Worst Customer service.
We visited kilim with our child, saw empty space to sit and when I ordered some food the counter girl said there is no table available for you to sit and eat so we have to leave. Poor management and people who work in kilim show bad attitude.
I had takeaway once and food was poorly cooked.
Very bad experience

No alcohol for sale but BYO wine with no corkage fee.
We had a yummy dinner and it wasn't so busy so it was nice having a relaxed dinner.
I took my plate to the front thinking they will put it in takeaway instead a young lady gave me the takeaway container for me to put away. Didn't get the gesture of me bringing my plate up. Overall, it was nice

Nice wallet friendly Turkish cafe.
Been here multiple times with Family, Parents and in-laws over the years and have always enjoyed the experience.
Meze is our must have dish. Donor Kebabs, Iskenders are equally appetising.
They also have a Turkish Coffee as an alternative to Flat White. Nice strong coffee shot.

The decor is pretty ethnic. Friendly staff.

Well designed Turkish place in Wellington.
The place has a real Turkish vibe with all that Middle Easter ornaments.
Menu is authentic Turkish menu with a touch of western cuisine but some of the main foods are not served in authentic and traditional way. For example Iskender kebab which is a very famous Turkish food and should be served on chopped Turkish bread and sauce, in this restaurant is served on rice.
Staff are really friendly and polite.
We ordered mixed grill plate, Adana burger and lamb güvec. I also inquired if they serve Ayran (Turkish yogurt drink) but the answer was no. Also place doesn’t serve alcohol but is a byo.

Adana burger was food of the night for us. Authentic taste and decent size. It was spicy and this is the real Adana style food.

Mixed grill was ok but really poor presentation. Everything was thrown in a plate with some salad and beetroot deep and a piece of Turkish bread which was covered with beetroot deep. My friend who doesn’t like beetroot was pretty upset so I swapped my bread with him.
Güvec was really nice, well cooked and presented also really spicy which shouldn’t be! Actually all of our orders were spicy but it can be a misunderstanding from our side as my friend asked for spicy sauce which could be interpreted as we all wanted of our foods spicy!

Price was reasonable in comparison to other Turkish places I have been and also if you consider the portion of the food.
Kitchen closes at 9 pm.
The place has no parking issues and there is lots of parking spaces on the street.

I really enjoy my iskenders, I have tried them across NZ, unfortunately I have to say this has been the worst, the rice was hard, the sauce was minimal, I was also not given an opportunity to opt out of any of the dressings which is a first for me. I'm giving it 3 stars cause it was filing and the service was good, maybe they were having an off night, I doubt I will return again.

This place gives alot of value when it comes to food. Walk passed this restaurant after 6pm and it is likely crowded. Tiramisu portion is pretty nice but it could use some more alcohol if it has any already.

We visited Kilim at lunch hour on the weekend. The meals and all the other foods and desserts we ordered were really huge portions. Service is excellent, cheerful, nimble and very efficient staff members. The Turkish food is very tasty, quite different from typical other cuisines that restaurants generally serve. The place is very cozy, has a great ambience and is very neat and clean. There are a few options for vegetarians too and is a really fantastic place for meat lovers. Good place for anyone with a good appetite and for people who like to experiment with non stereo typical cuisine. Our over experience was really nice, certainly worth a second and third visit, to try out the other stuff being served.

Been going to Kilim for some time, its always been a favorite. Unfortunately my latest experience, not so much.

Picked up the order and when I got home realized we did not get what we ordered. Phoned up and the response was simply, "nothing we can do".

No offer to come back and swap out, nothing.

Food can be good, but double check your order as they won't fix a mistake.

Love the food here, been here a number of times over the years and the deliciousness and freshness of food is consistent.
Hummus selection and variety is gorgeous, big fan of the eskender meals.

Incredibly disappointed. We ordered the Chicken Saganaki, Vegetable fritters, and Falafel.
- The Saganaki was terribly salty and had next to no eggplant. Even the chicken was unpalatable.
- The vegetable fritters had a minuscule amount of veg, and were covered in a heavy thick batter.
- The falafel was honestly the worst attempt at falafel I have ever experienced. It was textureless (as if flour had been added to bulk it up), over salted and and tasted terrible.

I regret my life choices and the money I spent there. We honestly felt we would have been happier at McDonald’s and we never ever go to McDonald’s. I’m baffled at all the positive reviews for Kilim.

The owners of Kilim should focus on ingredients and actual Turkish recipes (spices/seasoning fresh meats and vegetables).

Pretty close to a Turkish meal outside of Turkey. Consistent and deliciousflavour and textures. Service is pretty good. Although this place does get busy on Friday. Always book! Family, casual dining.
