Top class food all round however customer service was a let down. Waiter seemed like our group were being a nuisance when asking for the mains menu whilst reviewing the drinks menu. This made us feel like we were being looked down upon as well as unwelcome. When we were paying for our meals I requested to split the bill and use prezzy cards to pay for the meal however was told that this was a “big hassle but it is fine”, this made me feel very embarrassed and again not welcome so will be thinking twice before coming here again or recommending this establishment to others.

Had a lovely meal, it was a birthday treat. The walls certainly look dull like they need a jolly good clean.

We went to this place for dinner. You have to reserve ahead of time to get in. Preset menu looks good, and all dishes looked like a piece of art. However, nothing special in terms of taste. Fish was too dry and didn’t resonate with the rest of each dish. Dessert was too sweet. If it were not for the good look of the food and excellent service, I would give it 2 stars.

Weird drunk lady came in and was hard to get rid of. Great experience otherwise food was top notch as was the drink.

This was my first time experiencing Logan Brown and wow what an experience it was. The food was delicious, the service impeccable and the building itself stunning. Only downside was that the cocktail list was not very exciting. The food however more than made up for that.

I give 2 stars for this as a couple of remarks and the way some of the staff treated my group and I feel made us feel unwelcome. When I was seated, I was only given the drinks menu. I wasn't interested in ordering any drinks so I asked to see the dinner menu, the waitress gave me a dirty look and made a snarky comment about how odd it was that I wanted to see the dinner menu before ordering drinks.
A person in my group asked how much the truffle fries side dish was and jokingly asked if it was very expensive (because of the truffle) and the same waitress gave us another odd look.
When my group and I went to split the bill, the waiter was very rude and said it was a big hassle multiple times as "usually most groups just have one person pay the bill". We were very polite and apologetic about the inconvenience, we wanted to use gift vouchers for the restaurant hence we needed to split the bill, and still he was very rude about it.

The food was delicious, but there was a long wait time between each course. I would not come back because of the unfriendly service.

Christmas Day. Have never eaten out for the special day but OH MY what a wonderful experience. The most amazing, delicious and traditionally inspired food, with an amazing service from the staff and beautifully paired wines to match the 7 courses. Thank you SO very much LB team - a fantastic day and will definitely be back from CHCH to dine again

Disappointed by the Logan Brown experience, the front of house manager was very polite, got us a table despite no booking and was generally friendly and made us feel very welcome.

The food wasn't the stellar experience we had in the past at Logan Brown, the cocktails were uninspiring and the chips we got were def overly salty but felt like we should finish them rather than waste it, would have complained but didn't feel like spoiling the night's vibes with a conflict and the staff were so nice.

Been here a number of times in the past, just does not feel the same, sad to see that because we used to be amazed at the dishes here and we loved this place and considered it #1 or #2 in Welly at least.

Delicious food - 5/5 stars for all courses.

I felt awkward about the way the restaurant's staff interacted with our table and left feeling embarrassed.

We enjoyed a very nice meal. Flavours were lovely, and we had a good night. Service for drinks was a bit slow, and part of our order was missed, meaning some had finished their first cocktail before others received them. A glass of wine even took about 15 min to be served. Otherwise a very nice experience.

We were really excited to go to Logan Brown as we heard great reviews from our friends and family.
In terms of the food I felt that the course I had was lovely. The seasoned asparagus was a great entree. The fillet was medium rare and well seasoned. My favorite dish of the night was the dessert which was the caramel creme which was delicious. The let down for me personally was the way the waitress and waitor treated our table. We all had gift vouchers which we wanted to use at a fine dinning restaurant, the waitor made us feel like we were a massive nuisance for wanting to split our bill even though we were quite polite and apologetic about this. It was not very welcoming and we all felt like he was quite rude about this. I get that it's not an easy task but why would you offer gift vouchers if its hard for customers to use and then also be rude to them for using it? Not sure I'm in a hurry to go back due to the customer service.

Best start with the paua ravioli. Recommend for $12, make sure you keep some of the bread to mop up the sauce afterwards.

Our service was slow from the kitchen which we think really impacted the food. Stracciatella was a little bland, the pear and radish accompanying it didn't add much. Duck and hapuka was slightly over but still had crispy skins. Hierloom carrots were over done, prefer them al dente, but maybe that's personal preference. Espresso and cardamon mousse was so over powered with cardamom it tasted like soy sauce, couldn't taste any coffee it in. Would go for the parfait or cheeses over that.

Pretty average evening unfortunately. My partner and I had booked here for her birthday after reading so many great reviews. However the poor evening started as soon as we walked in: we were asked to sit at the ‘bar’; a small table adjacent to the actual bar. No offer of a drink or to look at the menu while we waited. After 10 -15 minutes we were walked to our table. Due to the lay out of the room the tables are bunched quite closely; table of 4 behind us were cramped very tightly together and next to a wall? Waiter constantly found it hard to serve them, having to lean over one particular customer who quite frankly looked annoyed. After placing an order for a bottle of champagne, it wasn’t until 20 minutes later and having ordered from the food menu that we were told it wasn’t available. We then chose another bottle and had to wait another further 10-15 for it to arrive. From the outset our waiter was very pleasant and really tried his best but it was clear to see he was inexperienced and under a lot of pressure due to how busy it was. Small things from how they poured our champagne: holding the bottle from the neck of the bottle? To leaving our bottle of champagne on the table adjacent to us without placing it in an ice bucket: I had to inform another waiter to do so. Again, our waiter appeared to not be wearing socks matched with a shorter pair of trousers and smart shoes - this unfortunately is not something I’d associate with fine dining.
The food: again, like the service, was mediocre to ok. I feel a lot of the reviews here maybe overhyped by the foods presentation and not by the quality itself. My partner chose the beef cheek, whilst I opted for the duck. The duck was a little tough and quite hard to cut at times. My partners beef cheek cooked had been cooked brilliantly but just a little under seasoned. Unfortunately we had ordered sides to go with our mains but these didn’t turn up until
about half way through eating our mains, disappointing. Desserts were good but flavoring pairings seemed odd and slightly outdated: green coral looking sponge?
Overall, after spending nearly $800 I came away feeling a little bitter and resentful after what was so supposed to be a great culinary experience but unfortunately proved to be a very average evening. My advice to the owners would be to part-close some of the dining room in order to keep service to their ordinarily high standard, otherwise I feel a review like mine may become the norm. I of course understand the current environment and how COVID will have impacted them so would be keen to come again to enjoy the real experience of Logan Brown Restaurant.

Really nice celebration, not a fan of set menus on a Saturday for all customers but in spite of that the quality and taste combined was fantastic, definitely an occasion restuarant v a let's go out for dinner. Service was nice, but maybe lacked an edge that I would have expected for this type of restuarant. Would recommend as quality for someone at the chef end of the scale.

We dined at Logan Brown for my husband's birthday. It was the right choice for us because he wanted something intimate and cozy.

Logan Brown changes their menu every 3 weeks or so. It was the first day of their new menu. We ordered from their Logan Brown Bistro Menu @85.00 each with one wine match for $55.00 and I got myself a refreshing lychee mocktail.

To start we had the homemade sourdough and raisin bread with salted honey and garlic butter.

Entrée, we had a vegetarian dish and rabbit meat. Rabbit meat was paired with a red wine from Italy.

Mains, I had their potato and gnocchi - which for my taste pallet was a bit salty, but they did offer to give me something else, which I didn't take cuz you know it was about my husband that night and not me haha. On the other hand, my husband really enjoyed his snapper which was paired with a Chardonnay from NZ. Had some broccolini on sides too to go with our mains.

We finished with some desserts, I had the espresso mouse and my husband got dessert with happy birthday written on it and served with a glass of Resiling from Marlborough.

Our total with tips was $260. Our server was Ajay he was very sweet and accommodating to my dietary needs. The service was smooth and timely. My husband really enjoyed, so I am happy too.

Thanks:)
