The Larder reviews
64I had the breakfast burger and it was delicious! And very reasonably priced. The coffee was nice and the staff were really organised and lovely considering it was hectic and there were people lining up out the door just to get in. In-house made bread and pastry is a highlight, all at a fair value. The larder gets it all right.
Food was amazing! I had the poached eggs and a flat white. Service was great, this is one of the first places that I've come to in Wellington where you are seated at a table and your order is placed at a table then you pay as you leave. Overall this place is very good and i really like it. Go back soon
Breakfast was really nice, it had a good selection of choices with many healthy options. I would have no hesitation in returning.
Staff are attentive and friendly. It is extremely noisy and it is difficult to hold a conversation. Food is prompt to arrive. While tasty the meat was way too salty. It is expensive for the quality of the food. Not sure if I would return
Exceptional food, well presented, great service. I had the goat cheese souffle, sensational. I'd go there again for sure.
Absolutely amazing! We haven't been back in two years but again it was exceptional service and the food was outstanding. Thank you for a beautiful experience again. 10/10
Just too good to be real, bring your apatite and anyone you need to win over the larder will do the rest.
Have been a half dozen times and allways had excellent food with lovely service
Pro tip don't neglect the baked goods cabinet.
Exceptional, in every sense.
The food is scrumptious and the perfect serving. The service is great, you are made to feel welcome without being overbearing.
Coffee is also delicious.
Can’t recommend high enough.
Amazing place to go grab lunch! Great place to meet some locals and feel part of the town! Food was amazing!
Beautiful flavors. Complex and refined without being pretentious. If I lived in Wellington it would be one of my default brunch places. Well worth the drive. Also a very decent craft beer selection.
They have sweetbreads! Yummo. Yes will come here again. And they will do a half portion. Decor is great too.
Called in for lunch after a Weta Workshop tour. Absolutely divine food and coffee. Great service. Totally recommend
Over priced burger consisting of deep fried chicken, lettuce & a piece of cucumber served with warm water on a hot day. Coffee whilst a beautiful blend was also warm. Service was great!
The Larder is one of Wellington's hidden gems. They serve delicious food made from the freshest ingredients and their service is impeccable. Some people might argue that this place is pricey, but if you get great food and service, isn't it worth it?
Pork belly hash with black pudding here is one of my favourite all time breakfasts. The black pudding is the best I've tasted. Friendly staff and good coffee too.
Lambs brains can be polarizing but these wee guys are soft and coated in delicious bread crumbs. Served with a delicious aioli you could easily forget your chowing down on brains - the polenta chips are generous and the Madam Croquet is pretty special too!
Best meal I've had in a long time. Seasonal 5* cafe restaurant style food. Get the grilled octopus salad while it's available!
My grandma and I had lunch here, and both very enjoyed it. She had the brains which she was very excited about because it was something her mother use to cook for her, and she had not had it in over 50 years. She was very pleased and enjoyed it thoroughly. I had the steak salad, which I was at first a bit apprehensive about. But it was absolutely amazing and the grilled halloumi was perfect. It was the best meal we had throughout our whole trip in New Zealand.
Delicious burgers and food, we really enjoyed our lunch. Staff were friendly, and service was quick. The fish burger was really tasty, and although a little busy, food came in a timely manner.
I had visitors from Auckland who were booked to go on a tour at WetaCave so we went to lunch at Larder. I hadn't been there for sometime but I was really impressed. All three of our meals were fantastic and I was very proud of our local restaurant. Great food good service and pleasant surroundings.
