Decent pub grub. No staff seemed like they wanted to be working. Especially the Indian man who immediately bought the bill without asking if we'd like another drink or any desert, then shouted the total at the bill at us. " a thankyou wouldn't go a miss" wouldn't rush to eat here. Better options thoughtout the town

I've worked in Hospitality for over 10 years. No wonder the place is empty.

Lovely pub in Hokitika. Food was really good. Limited beer selection. Service is fast and friendly.

The food was really good as well as the stay.
Only thing was- the staff is very rude. In 5 years of my travelling experience in New Zealand, I have met many people from different nationalities, shared stories and made friends but when I had any communication with the staff here, they were not having time even to listen or understand what the customer is saying and then just respond back rudely.

I loved the steak sandwich
The nachos needs more chips but was good cheese sour cream meat ratio️ it needed chimken

Popped in for a drink and food whilst visiting this area as part if our hols in New Zealand. Good choice of food and drinks. Nice bar as well, great choice of drinks and terrific staff.

Service was outstanding, really sufficient with table service and making sure everyone waiting got seated. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. Highly recommend.

It's so bad I wanna give it a zero, but that's not possible so I give it a one. Beer was fine

What a great place we'll be back! Had an amazing Thai chicken meal best IV ever had! I'm gluten free was awesome to see plenty of gf options an the staff were so lovely even when the kids spilled there ice chocolate everywhere! They gave them a new one which put a smile back on the face great food great service!

Good service, good pub meals and our waiter was great (didn't get hid name unfortunately, but he was very efficient, friendly and helpful)

Busy as 2Jan 1pm - bathroom spotless, bar and cafe neat as a pin and tables cleared as soon as people have vacated them.
Super friendly service, great food and well worth calling in en route.
Thank you, others could learn how to do it better by watching what you do!

One of only two places open on Boxing Day so the place was packed. Even so, the staff quickly cleared a table for us. There is a large selection of meals & drinks to choose from. The portions are large and came out quickly. Good atmosphere and buzzy. A bit pricy but we will eat here again when in the area.

Enjoyed our pit stop at Stumpers Bar & Cafe. Portion is on the generous side. Was served by friendly crew and we loved the atmosphere. The fish n chips n pizza were great!

I’m never one to complain on here about anything but we received shocking service. The girl behind the bar seemed so uninterested in her job and seemed like she didn’t want to service us. No smile or hello. They didn’t pay any attention to what we ordered as it wasn’t correct and we also asked for a menu to look at and the waitress told us we had to go and get our own making it seem like she couldn’t be bothered bringing us one. They weren’t too busy where they would have been under pressure so the service should have been good. I’ve seen other reviews of people having the same experience as mine which is really disappointing. This place has potential to be really good if the staff actually wanted to be there and wanted to give great customer service. I am understanding and do get that this is a stressful time for everyone but it doesn’t take much to give a lasting impression on someone. We always make sure to return to restaurants where we have received great customer service and I’m sure others are exactly like me. Work on your customer service and I think you would have a great place

I think the chef couldn't find the salt. I asked for toothpick. Waitress gave me ONE on a serviette. Excuse me! The other one took my serviette before I finished my drink. The vine was good. But it's not on them.

Got our drinks and food mixed up.if only they wrote down what we asked for instead of guessing
But food was nice once we got the right orders.asked for large coke no ice, and iced chocolate with no marshmallows.
Got raspberry and coke with ice twice.ugh!

Good selection of food and drink which has always been nice here.
Can get very busy at any time of day.
Good range of seating options from high bar tables, sofas and dining tables too.
Usually open during times when other cafes and eateries are closed. Friendly staff.

Disgusting service, very rude staff and the worst coffee I had in my life.wastage of time and money.highly not recommended.

Dog friendly must be on a leash outside. Table's outside were very busy. Walked around the town and came back around the hr, finding a free table outside. The beers were lovely and cold. We ordered a plate of pork ribs salid and chips. The ribs were cooked to perfection. Staff friendly and helpful.

Nice food, but staff were unhelpful in that their tables were mostly set for dinner at 3pm and we weren't allowed to sit there. We were 5 adults ordering cabinet meals and coffees, and had to sit in the pub or at a 4 seat table. The set tables were empty for our entire visit and because we'd asked to sit at the unavailable tables, the young female server was quite passive aggressive, looking away from us as she brought our meals. Not relaxing but rather awkward and unfriendly. Not recommended.

Stayed for 1 night great size room super king bed great price. Irish lady at reception was very friendly and help full. The young gentleman and 2 young ladies on the restaurant floor were 5 service and the food was 100% bang on, lamb rump and pork belly 1 meal could of feed both of us. We definitely know we're to go now when visiting Hokitika
