Luv this place. Amazing food, fantastic and friendly service, cozy atmosphere. Perfect spot after a long drive on a cold winter evening. Highly recommended

Lovely place that we go to every other weekend. I am vegeterian so, I often ask for their gourmet chiken pizza- requesting the chiken out- never had issue with it until today! We went there with a friend and I ordered my usual pizza, only to be told that chef has refused to take the chicken out of the pizza- felt really embarrassed and insulted! Its hard to believe that except soup or hot chips there was nothing else on their menu that I could eat. Sorry, this place is not suitable if you have a diteary requirement. I almost feel like they though just havea sign saying vegans and vegetarians not welcome- might be less insulting.

Wow - we ate here for three days, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoyed everything, stayed in their accommodation and couldn’t fault anything, super clean and in a great location- loved everything about this place

We dined here during our trip to Hokitika and the service was really top notch! The kids loved their meals (kids platters). The fish of the day was one of the best meals I have had. Thank you! Highly recommend.

Would have loved to eat here but the rude staff totally put me off. Plenty of others places to go.

Was visiting from chch, I'm from the coast, Had an okay eggs bennie here needed a little more holly sauce. I asked for more and never received it (of they had been busy I would ha e understood) The girl I asked was rude and very uninterested in her job. I had one of the worst coffee's I've ever had, it came out after the food, it was cold and had been Cleary sitting for quite some time before it was deliverd to me. There was a women with red hair who seemed to be carrying the whole place, she was friendly and seemed to really care about her customers. Shame the two young girls with her let the place down.

Super friendly staff with beautiful looking tasty and filling food. Recommend to anyone visiting Hokitika.

Absolutely lovely lunch. Beer battered fish and chips with salad. Fast quick service. Always friendly helpful staff.

Good selection of food and drink which is always good here.
Can get very busy at any time of day.
Good range of seating options from high bar tables, sofas and dining tables too.
Usually open during times when other cafes and eateries are closed.

Worst coffee ever. Ordered a flat white but was not at all and didn't even fill the cup size.
Can go for a beer!

Pork belly was delicimio. Lamb salad the same. Very nice service from the staff. No hesitation in going back.

The staff are very friendly and professional. The food was delicious and portions generous. A great place to wine, fine and unwind

My Partner & I travelled over to the coast from Christchurch.we had a drink in the bar first.the older lady behind the bar struggled to open an RTD then proceeded to tell my partner to open his own.we decided to see if we could get a meal. I approached a waitress to ask about dinner & was told I needed to talk to Anna (?). Who made me feel like it was an imposition as we didn’t have a reservation.we did get to order & the waitress seemed less than thrilled to be there.the food was ok the portions we’re generous.but definitely won’t be recommending it to a group of friends traveling over next month. & with the way things are at the moment I was very surprised that people in the hospitality industry aren’t more appreciative of having a job, that definitely didn’t seem the case at stumpers.

Friendly staff, good food and alright presentation with decent beers on tap.
Overall another good experience.

After lockdown thought would get out and support those businesses hit by the virus. Have been here many times both on business/personal and can thoroughly recommend the food and atmosphere. However this time was very disapointed with the staff. Not just one member but all of them. You get the impression that they wanted to be somewhere else. The way they spoke to you with a certain amount of disinterest was something we havent had before at Stumpers. A welcoming smile goes a long way ladies. Will think twice before stopping in again

Awesome place, have the stake and my partner the lamb, extremely delicious and good amount of food. The staff was really friendly and work perfectly. Highly recommended

Great fish and chips. Better than I can find in Auckland. Good place to watch the rugby too - big screens and sound.
