72All locally sourced food, good wine selection, very good service and a unique menu. If you are on a budget and not into trying different dishes, this restaurant is not for you
Amazing venue, even better food. Been numerous times break, lunch and dinner, not all on the same day though. The staff are very friendly and happy to talk through the menu if needed. Food is amazing every-time, definitely worth checking out the bakery next door if you wanting to pick up some nice pastries and sandwiches. Definitely will be back again for sure!
The food here was not good its taste like some burnt ostrich skin mixed with left out in the sun for days fiji water. I came all the way from NYC to experience this wut a joke
Great for breakfast. I love how the portion sizes aren't overly huge and the focus on doing a few dishes well. It's all also nice to see a pasta dish and a prosciutto roast potato dish for breakfast as an alternative to the standard brunch cafe fare.
Amazing experience as always at Amano. The food is excellent, made with great quality ingredients and incredibly fresh. Our server Katie was absolutely outstanding and she totally made the experience. Definitely hope that she is our server the next time we go! One of Auckland’s top spots for sure.
Always a fantastic experience me and my girlfreind have been regulars for a few years, service and food has always been excellent!
Had ordered a contactless take away yesterday! Crudo, Boar fish and a dessert! Absolutely divine! Would recommend! Thank you guys!
Absolutely fantastic atmosphere.of course food is awesome.most important thing is that.super delicious almond croissant ever i had
Great fit out, very friendly staff and utterly fantastic food.
Very good modern itialian.
You get a two hour meal slot and the service speed isn't up to it. Feels rushed and although the food is nice it is not excellent.
Always a consistently good place to go for business, takeaways or with the family. Well done Amano.
I wanna go back tomorrow because i forgot the photos of my food lol.
I went back thr next day totally enjoyed Brunch
Great food and service at the restaurant. The pasta is handmade. Prices are standard for a nice sit-down restaurant in that part of town. I think the fairly new Spectra Cafe in the nearby PWC could be a rival for best pasta in CBD. I think the menu rotates as every time I go there, as there are subtle changes on the menu (that being said we are in the middle of a Global Pandemic). There is a nice bakery with a good selection of savoury pastries, and desserts. The lines are very long in the weekdays as a lot of office workers go there for lunch/coffee. I would admit the coffee is a bit meh and the dessert selection at the restaurant is tiny. Bar is okay, standard selection of drinks. Very close to the train station. Really nice decor if that is important to you, one of the nicest restaurant toilets I have ever used.
Visited after 4 months of lockdown. As always the food & service was excellent. It’s one of my favourite fresh pasta places. Ambience here is amazing, my favourite seating here is counter seats, where you get to watch them make fresh pasta. Due to Covid-19 restrictions they have stopped serving these tables. Can’t wait to go back again.
Well baise moi, if the Pain Au Chocolate isn’t a little slice of delicious French heaven - I dont know what is. I applaudir the pastry chef at Amano
Enjoyed a fabulous meal last night. No booking but after only a short wait at the bar (no hardship!) we got a table really promptly. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Had the pork rillettes and trevalli crudo to start and then both had different pasta dishes as mains. As we were seated at the bar we asked the advice of the staff who matched our dishes with wine choices perfectly. Loved, loved loved!
Ordered takeaway Amano for a lockdown treat. Unbelievable value for two at $79 - four absolutely delicious dishes, it was OUTSTANDING. Bravo Amano!
Can't wait until you're open again to dine in.
This is an amazing restaurant in the vibrant Britomart area of the Auckland CBD. If you're looking for exquisite food, excellence in service, a fantastic 'vibe' and atmosphere then look no further than Amano. Nothing beats the evening meals in our opinion. And why not call back in for an exceptional brekkie or takeaway pastry & coffee the next morning - seriously delicious. We can't wait to be back soon. Kia Kaha Amano Team.
Impeccable food, lovely setting. Had to wait a while to get noticed by wait staff despite it not being too busy, but they were very professional and friendly.
Super busy all the time I visit here. It’s nearly impossible to get a table without booking, yet counter seats are available for smaller groups. Service and greeting are reasonably organised. Most of the time everyone here is very nice, efficient, and quick.
The type of food they serve is on a bit of an ethnic side, but most of the dishes are nicely presented and enjoyable. The pastry is phenomenal so it’s worth the waiting time, or you could drop off by for the bakery!
