Amano reviews
72Delicious chargrill chicken. Chocolate torte. Burnt brussel sprouts with cheese. I want to go back again try other dishes
Across road from waterfront - found by accident but so glad we did. Attentive friendly staff even though busy, great meal, sparkling water, coffee & hot choc. Would come back again.
Just a next level experience. The atmosphere is amazing, really beautiful decor. The food was so good, coffee is great too. Really enjoyed it
Ok, just ok.food. And out exceptionally fast… a bit odd and well before the coffee’s we ordered prior to meal selection… detail and basics, let’s just forget about all the flashiness
Have come here a few times for breakfast and lunch. The food is consistently en pointe, coffee is deliciously strong, and they serve sparkling water as the standard. Highly recommend the omelette.
Atmosphere is relaxed, despite the space buzzing with patrons every day. Recommend booking ahead if dining at prime times, and make sure to check out the well appointed bathrooms.
Went for dinner last week. We had the burrata on a bed of cherry tomatoes and basil swept up by chewy chunks of house baked sourdough, followed by a perfect medium-rare steak that had a bit of gristle, and a side of grilled courgette. Amazing flavours, looking forward to my next visit.
Change your head chef service deserves 4 stars food deserves 2 too salty did not remove tendon in meat which is careless. I loved steak dish itself either its fresh or used fine lamb meat, between rare and medium rare cooked was suit, garnish was ok too. I still did not get why some kind of breadcrumb that you used on my pasta dish has frozen taste or fridge taste it was disgusting spaghetti was clearly over 2mm.too chewy too much gluten then its udon not a pasta however your staff was too good for this restaurant so I give 3 stars.
I'm not a regular of amano but if i could, i really would. This is beautiful location for having business breakfasts or brunch. Great food and drinks. Wonderful layout of the restaurant and architecture too. Stop by their little pocket bakery next door for a takeaway danish.
This is our favorite restaurant. No matter how busy or whatever the time is, there's always a table in Amano and they always feed us good food. Service is always amazing too!
Avoid the procuitto brekkie. Old, dry potatoes soaked in oil with tasteless procuitto and a single cold egg. Pastry was yum though.
We just keep coming back because despite loads of new restaurant offerings constantly tempting us to try you just can’t go past Amano for amazing food and elegant surroundings. A favourite for any time of day - delicious!
Very tasty pasta, fresh, nicely cooked and great flavours. Coffee was also done nicely. Kind and friendly staff but in my experience not very attentive. Had for breakie and would definitely want to go again for dinner or lunch.
Had coffee just to try based on the reviews.finished it walking around and had to come back for another one. This restaurant gives value to their customers no matter how big or small the order is.
Great atmosphere and decor, close by to the harbour. The food is creative and inventive, I enjoyed their breakfast pasta offering, it was a decent portion cooked well. The coffee also tasted great. Staff were friendly, not a long wait for neither the coffee or food to come out. There is also a take away bakery that offers coffee and pastries, so if you change your mind, you have a second chance.
#Highly recommend Amano. Food is amazing, service is definitely A+ and with a smile too. Prices are competitive.
Don't go to the city without visiting Amano.
Been hear many times for breakfast lunch or dinner. The food is exceptional with fresh high quality ingredients. Sitting at the area if you want to watch the kitchen is good entertainment.
For a Tuesday it was pretty busy, and as a first timer for my son and I, we were most impressed. The waitress who looked after us was very informative and excellent how she described and sold the meal choices to us, and she was so right of how it all tasted. The service was pretty punctual and the meal servings were perfect I would definitely recommend to anyone, Thanks Amano
One of my favourite restaurants in NZ. Can be difficult to get a table for 4+, and have had to wait up to an hour with constantly shifting timeframes when we’ve been on the wait list. Absolutely worth it though - you won’t find food this good anywhere else. Good place to entertain visitors too, but be patient and get a drink at the bar next door while you wait.
Our entrees and mains were delicious but the stars of the show were there desserts for me. Excellent attentive service.
I can see why people consider this the best restaurant in Auckland. The food and drinks were incredible and my wife and I loved the ambiance. The open concept restaurant truly gives one the experience of a high end, sophisticated establishment. I would highly recommend!
Beautiful fit out, wonderful food and amazing service from Rhianna, Thanks so much for the great wine recommendation and the friendly chat. Will return for sure.
