Montrose Cafe, Bistro and Bar

Came here with my family and it’s so underwhelming. The food is overpriced and doesn’t have much flavour. The staff are kind and helpful but I wouldn’t come back or recommend.

Good service, the waitress was a lovely chatty person but my scone could have been used for a hockey puck, it was that heavy. It wasn't fully baked and was most unpleasant to eat, all other food was good. Thanks for the reply, it was on Monday the 25th April

Excellent brunch. Friendly service, great food and coffee, plenty of parking, right next to the beach and lots of shops. The salmon eggs Benedict was magnificent, and well priced. House smoked salmon the best I've tasted. My wife loved the Belgian waffles. Comfortable seating, a lovely spot. Highly recommended.

Food was good but nothing beats the service my family and I received from Megan (I think that’s her name). Literally can’t beat it and will never be able to find it anywhere else. SHE is an asset to the company, is the reason we will be coming back, and honestly deserves a pay rise. If tipping was a thing in NZ she would have all my money.

A disappointing visit on Thursday. Ordered a scone, which was under baked and had to wait an age for my coffees to arrive. I'll put it down to a bad day for rhe staff there. Usually at a higher standard.

We enjoyed a great anniversary dinner recently. Duck was lovely & hubby enjoyed the steak. Thank you for being so welcoming.

Lamb Salad is meaty, bursting with flavour! I keep coming back and everything I have tried is exceptional.
The owner chef is personable
Highly recommend this place to my guests as an Airbnb host.

The house specialty sticky pudding was so great. I had it with a blended ice coffee, it made a bitter sweet tasting sensation.

Perfect Friday evening dinner after walking the doggo. They have a beautiful Platter for two which was really really good. Highly recommend and good pricing.

Good friendly service in a pleasant environment close to the carpark & not far from the beach area. I had a nice omelette with a long black. All good.

Handy local eatery. Indoor outdoor seating. Table and bar service by pleasant team. Large carpark at rear of the block guarantees a spot. Street art scenes on main wall. Menu ok, with reasonable choices. Pricing is fair.

Finally had time to get back to Bruce and staff to have brunch today didn't think it possible 4 improvements here but they surpassed all expectations today both with food and service awesome Bruce get there people and we are not locals wish this restaurant was in our area but well worth the drive as usual

Very welcoming and friendly staff, easy to joke around with. Flexible with catering options for special dietary needs / allergies. High quality of service and food. Warm and relaxed atmosphere. Big enough to cater for groups, but small enough to still feel private.

One of the best, if not the best mango smoothie we've ever had. Good value. Friendly service. Tasty food. We had the salmon hash, brioche mozzarella melt, salmon pizza (we got the Friday $10 pizza promo).

In short - these guys are doing best eggs benny with salmon I've ever tried in Auckland.
Toasted croissant, really good manually smoked salmon (not "pams" slices) removed bones, poperly done poached eggs with liquid yolk. And freshly cracked black pepper on top.
