Another great experience and so good to see the owner out and chatting with the customers a place like this is to be cherished and supported

Coeliac or food allergies - this is your place. With separate kitchen area for preparation and a separate fryer, Montrose can really cater for people who need extra special care given to the preparation of their meals. Their staff are knowledgeable and helpful and very willing to adapt meals to cater for special food requirements. "Allergies are our thing" they said when I booked. Many restaurant aren't interested in serving our family with our many allergies. It was no problem at Montrose.

We dined here for our wedding anniversary and we enjoyed salmon and roast duck followed by cardamom and orange crepe brûlée for dessert.
The whole meal was delicious and the red wine recommended was superb - very smooth.
We will be returning

We only ordered coffees as did not have much time for food. I ordered almond latte, and that was one of the best coffees I ever had! I will try some food next time. The restaurant is cosy and warm, a little dark inside but I guess that is good if you want to relax. Has nice outside area and is literally one minute walk from Mairangi Bay beach.

Food is delicious and service is great, with smiley owner, waitresses and waiters. Have been a few times for coffees and really enjoy the atmosphere.

A large variety of gluten free and caters to many allergies.
Street food was such a good way to experience the food as we all got to try many yummy dishes.
The brunch day menu looks good too. Diff place to return to.

Great High Tea was devoured by 10 of us last Sunday. Everything was perfect and there was definitely value for money. Bubbles were enjoyed also. Well done Bruce and team.

Brunch for 6. Great coffee, delicious food, something to suit everyone. A wide variety of GF options. Staff were friendly and efficient. We will definitely return.

Good delicious food, much better than I expected. The staff are also quite friendly which is a plus. There's a carpark right next to the restaurant so it's quite convenient. The beach is also a couple of minutes walk away, good for an after meal stroll.

Been here yesterday 16/4/19. The dude (Cerch? Apologies for misspelling) was highly attentive, friendly and polite. Food was also amazing. Great selection of food, wine and beer. Will come back for sure.

Nice place. Food came out at reasonable time. Had Serg for a waiter. His service was great. Food good, but i thought the pizza crust was too thin, like cheese on a wafer. Everything else was delicious.

Went with the parents while over visiting.
Dad had the chicken burger - so huge he had to slice in half. Mum and I had the chicken- the sauce made this dish and it was delicious. Only reason for four stars is I love a mint desert and there was no mint option on the menu. That’s a personal choice though and dads cheesecake was yummy will be back

A pleasant spot to sit outside on a balmy evening and share a meal with friends. The 35 dollar set menu was fine - we preferred some bits to others, as you do - portions were generous so we took desert home with us, and staff were nice. Nothing earthshaking then, but perfectly enjoyable for what it is.

Food was good except that they put items on unbuttered toast then put the butter on the side of the plate.
Had to wait to pay the bill because only 1 person was allowed to operate the cash register and he wasn't there

Love this cosy place. Great food and the best seafood chowder. Been going here for years. Love the friendly staff

Manager Bruce had an bad attitude when complaining about the coffee and an over heated brownie, would not refund our money and became aggressive

We came here for the all you can eat Mexican chicken. Food was great. Atmosphere spot on. Only down side was they didn't bring the chicken out fast enough. Would highly recommend checking this place out.

Definitely not 'trendy' either in the atmosphere or food options. We tried this from the grab one advertisement/voucher and won't be returning. Food is expensive. I would not mind if it was great quality but it isn't. Staff member and chef nice people.
