76 Thursday afternoon while walking around Glen Eden currently, it is clearly visible how WM have failed the community with failure to collect General Rubbish on scheduled Monday collection. This is a constant issue including Garden waste collections. On the very rare occasion a text maybe received which usually arrives a couple of days after scheduled pickup. I have sent an email and customer service have provided the same answer, currently experiencing operational issues with no apologies or solutions to rectify the issue of overflowing rubbish bins.
I am fortunately coming to the end of my yearly pre-paid agreement, I certainly will not be reinstating another agreement with this organisation.
So today is Tuesday 6th April at 3pm, my street and neighboring streets have still not had their original Monday 29th March General Rubbish collection. Two emails and a phone call no response from WM. No notification to the delay. WM front up and take accountability to your failures
Booked skip bin online well in advance, didn't show up, called multiple times to see where it was all I got was excuses and no resolution. Poor management, too many different people but no-one had any idea. Don't trust them. Lovely on the phone but don't be fooled. Do not recommend. Huge waste of time.
We have tried to have our green bin collected 9 times and each time have been told the collection is booked and it never gets collected. Bit of a joke to be honest, not sure how a collection of garden waste can go so wrong!
Waste management, is a waste of time. Instead of emptying the business rubbish bin, they decided to take the whole bin with them. I called customer service & was told a replacement bin will come out asap. Its now 2 weeks coming onto 3 weeks. During this time i have called 4x each time promising the same thing, to the point I have to start yelling at how thick headed they are. Still no bin. Yet they are still charging me for a service I did not receive. I will be getting more professional advice from the consumers guarantees act if it doesnt get sorted this week.
It is impossible to get hold of anyone. No one answers the phone I have called 4 times and was on hold for more that 15 minutes each time. I have left 3 messages on line through the chat option and still nothing. Is this company event still operating? Be careful who you sign up with. The service is terrible.
Waste Management is the most useless waste company I’ve ever come across. They never reply to emails, their website offers no information on collection days due to public holidays and their contact centre team don’t have much more knowledge either. Yeah, they’re affordable - but you clearly get what you pay for.
You’d be best choosing an alternative private rubbish company and paying the extra few dollars to actually have support where needed.
In December my bin wasn’t collected and after 3 days I called and was told that there was a driver shortage in my area - but no one thought to tell the customers. My neighbours faced the same issue, and told me about their issues with WM.
Edit 09/02/2021: have received a call from WM and they’ve acknowledged they’ve dropped the ball. Here’s hoping they improve processes in future.
Terrible service - the worst! Never collect on time and horrible customer service! Bin was scheduled to be collected on 4 Dec but was not emptied. Had to contact WM 4 times to arrange another collection. First, was told that it will be collected on 7 Dec morning and it was not! Then said it will be collected some time during the day on 7 Dec and it was not. Then said it will definitely be collected on 11 Dec and again was not collected. They still charged me for the missed collection! They are not helpful at all and the customer representatives are rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. They never contact you back. The drivers are just as bad! All their terms and conditions are false. On their website it states "We will empty your bin on the scheduled collection date, or within two working days after your scheduled collection" - but this is never the case. Don't recommend to anyone! An untrustworthy and unreliable company!
This company has not emptied the garden waste for three months, it doesn't answer the phone, the chat bot doesn't work nor do they reply to emails. A waste of my time.
Terrible company. They do not collect our bin on the scheduled date and we end up calling them every other week to ask them to collect our bin from the kerb because they missed it. Staff on the phone are not apologetic at all and act as if it is normal for these guys to miss pickups. More frustration than it is worth.
I tried finding an email to send this to but had no luck. I tried sending this through your contact system but that doesn’t work. I’ve been on hold for 20 minutes just to make a complaint about one of your drivers with the truck rego KSM281 but still no answer. It says on your website that safety is so important to your company yet your driver has no problem ignoring the traffic laws and endangering the public.
The WM's team can never get things done correctly at the first time, even many many times!
Their driver didn't empty our bins for many times, but said he did, even I was standing just beside the bins!
The customer service team helpless, never keep their premises to call me back.
Their account team can't generate an invoice correctly.
Even their Credit Controller, doesn't understand their own statement!
How could these person be employed?

I used this company for my household and garden waste curb-side bin collection for several years.
I cancelled there service (or lack of service!) in Dec 2018. I am now dealing with a debut collection agency over an unpaid bill for 2019 a full year after cancelling their service.
Keep all correspondence with this company as you’ll need it as proof years later!
I'm absolutely appalled with Waste Management. They never sent me an invoice to pay and then enforced a debt collection agency on me. Despite numerous phone calls to their department about the situation they persisted with the debt collection. TALK ABOUT BULLYING THE SMALL GUY AS THEY A LARGE COMPANY AND DON'T CARE.
Avoid this company and take your business to a competitor.
We ordered a 9m skip after doing some renovations and a general tidy up. The skip was delivered on time and then collected on schedule. It was good value, easy to organise and the driver was friendly both times. Thanks for the good service.
Very professional in service. Ordered a Flexibin pick up and the operator did an excellent job in navigating our driveway. No damage to vegetation.
Have been a sunshine bins customer for years.under waste management ownership the service is poor. Have been waiting over 1 year for collection dates information to be available on the website.
I’m baffled. Repeatedly missing weekly pickups (prepaid monthly). I called while sighting the truck less than 200 meters away to ensure pickup will not be missed and was told the route was not completed yet. No communication since, customer service is closed for the day and our bin is still full and stinks due to the rubbish from 3 weeks ago.
Considering alternative options for future rubbish pickups and termination of the service agreement.
The consistent incompetence is infuriating - think twice before signing up.
A one star rating is a generous exaggeration at best.
Can I give a zero star response? These guys have bought (buying) out the small 'green bin' companies in NZ. In return a slightly cheaper, but non existant service. Weeks, and months pass without pick ups.phone calls or email dont seem to matter. And they know that you now have very little alternative.
As per everyone else here.they simply dont care about your business whatsoever. Thankfully I only paid for 6 months wheelie bin collection. But each date they have provided me over the last three months.including last Friday 6th.they have simply not turned up. Have sent emails and wasted time on hold, called the head office to complain and still nothing. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.do not use or even think of giving them your money! They can come collect their bin after the 6 month period.we will NOT be renewing this simply diabolical service!
To the owner.nothing has changed. I have paid for a collection service that your driver (after waiting an eternity to speak to and being hung up on too!) declined to collect our bin as the street was too narrow. How is it then that after me complaining - the same truck did come and collect the last two times? OR answer this. We have the same large trucks coming EVERY week on a Tuesday to collect the same 240lt bin? Why cant your trucks collect? Why is it that you wouldnt even contact me to inform that you had cancelled my collection only for me to wait another 20 mins on hold awaiting another solution. Again. NOT MY FAULT. Have you read your reviews here pal? Whats the common denominator here? Your sugar coated responses do not take into account that your customers are leaving in droves
Always collect my bin on time. The only thing I have had a problem with is trying to find information about what you can put in the bin.
