Gengys Mongolian BBQ Buffet Restaurant

Better than Auckland Gengys. Food was fresh and nicely presented. Covid rules mean you can serve yourself at buffet but meat section requires you to choose your meat as usual and give to chefs and they will give you a number and serve it to your table which is great so you dont have to wait around the hot plate for your order around. Its nicely delivered to your table. Lovely staff. Clean and well maintained interior. Recommend them. We dined on 12th Jan 2022 as a group of 11.

One of the staff members was rude on 2 separate occasions (I assume the owner). It is far to hot in there so you cannot even enjoy sitting there and eating your kai. I would not go back there again by choice.

Fantastic. Perfect buffet for kids birthday, family groupings, or even a romantic one. Great chef/cooks. Quality and efficient team, well done.

Food was excellent, service was pretty good buy pays to read what to do at the table. The system to deliver food to a large group didn't quite work out. We just guessed who was whose.

Went here for the first time last night. So yummy and very affordable. Nice setting. We will definitely be returning again.

I love Gengys! It is my favourite place to eat in Whangarei. I have never had a bad experience here. The staff are super friendly, and they always seem happy to be working. I love that you create your own stir-fry and they cook it in front of you. It means the food is perfect everytime (even though I forget to add cooking oil most of the time) Definitely my top choice in Whangarei!

Love Gengys. Was extremely busy tonight though, really with the size of the queue you could only get up to get 1 serving as it took about 20 to 30 min to get to the grill. Still love going as we do for every family bday.

I would give zero stars if I could, horrible customer service from the owner. Treated the birthday woman with disrespect as well as everyone with her.never going there again. I really do not recommend.

I had my birthday there, and was really impressed by the service and the range of tasty food on offer. Really good value for money. Highly recommended.

Service was non-existent, most of the staff wouldn't even look at us. The food was good but only because we chose the ingredients. Had to wait 20 minutes to pay so we could leave. Not an experience I would have again

Awesome meal at Gengys, great selection to make a fabulous mix of tastes and styles. The staff are very helpful and tidy plus the Birthday song and pancakes are a special touch to top off your awesome meal.

This restaurant is great for couples and groups. You choose your food and it gets stirfried in front of you. Salads and vegetables are separate. Eat as much as you like. Our choices of dessert was between ice-creams. As an ice-cream enthusiast I am happy as.

Nice place, yummy fresh food, service was fast, the line to wait for your food to be cooked was quick. It was very clean and staff was very helpful

Great restaurant for a family event. We celebrated a birthday here. Very impressed with staff, choice of food and atmosphere. It’s great being able to pick what you want to eat and watch it being cooked by very capable chefs. Incredible choice of food. Being vegetarian we were initially a bit diffident about going to a Mongolian restaurant but the choice of vegetarian food was wide ranging. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be returning
