Gengys Mongolian BBQ Buffet Restaurant

Left with a full stomach we were all happy and would go back again. Good for a birthday party dinner. The restaurant is clean and presentable, Customer service was very good staff are kind and helpful I would recommend.

Staff were awesome, food was great, clean (restaurant & toilet) Constantly topping up the dishes. Relaxed atmosphere.

I had an operation the next day, where best to go before you must be nil by mouth? A smorgasbord of delicious healthy choices and plenty of variety!

Having had a family birthday, we opted to attend Gengys. We arrived at opening and once upon being seated we set right into it. The options of various meats and seafood was amazing. Endless refills if you are able. The selections of oils and dressing to tantalize anyone's taste buds. Side dishes of garlic potatoes, honey kumara, cheesy cauli/broccoli, chips and lovely salads and pancake with icecream, caramel/chocolate/maple syrup. We highly recommend you bring your family to this Restuarant to celebrate family events.

No where as good as Rotorua
Who puts onions and carrots in the uncooked meat section? When you can add to bowl in the vegetable section. No nuts and cream in the desert area. No sushi to be seen. Lighting in the place not very good seemed to dark for me. Only 2 people cooking the food mind you the bbq round plate is way smaller than other places been in so seems to take for ever too cook. But cant complain about the price 4 adults only got charged $56 We was all standing there to pay their mistake not ours

Great place, nice selection of food. Would be nice to see some gluten or dairy free dessert options though.

Booked a table for 25people, super lovely, efficient and helpful. Food was great and the kids were very happy

Very nice food, great service, friendly staff.
Being from the hospitality trade, my only concern would be possible cross contamination with the use of cooking utensils. Each cooking was on rotation and cleaned but I didn't see the utensils cleaned. Also I might suggest the use of numbers be given another way, perhaps written? These were very dirty and continually handed out.

The lady behind the counter was really rude, she couldnt accommodate my 4 kids myself and partner. She said she couldnt sit us anywhere every single table and high chair was reserved never happened before the other times we were fine so instead we will go spend our money at elsewhere,

Went here for my birthday in 2020. Great overall and the kids loved mixing it up on their plates. Great variety and atmosphere. Leaving with happy bellies!

My family (especially my son lol) love coming here as we are always met with a smile and the food is delicious with heaps of viraity. Great atmosphere, clean, friendly service, group bookings available, open till late and great prices.

The food was delicious and the staff & manager were lovely. Everything was clean. We took the kids, they loved it and they want us to live there. Pricing was reasonable. We will definitely be back.:)

Nice atmosphere and good food selection although a little pricey considering that it's self service. Other than that fine.

A fantastic buffet style experience. I always leave feeling absolutely stuffed. Choose your own ingredients and flavours then watch as it's cooked right before your eyes by the awesome friendly staff. There is also a great range of soup, salad and even pancakes and ice cream for dessert.

We love Genjys. The food is superb and the atmosphere so good. The staff enjoys with us and really looks after the diners. What more could you want.

Great value for money and kinda fun to pick your ingredients and watch it being cooked.there is a large room at the back for groups also, the staff were great too

A real funky place to eat. Love the style of service and when the staff do the whacky things with the knives on the stove top when it's someone's birthday! I love it

Really enjoyed the open buffet in this place. Mix and match your own wok ingredients, and see it getting cooked while you grab sides. Many ingredients to choose from. The place can get a bit noisy though because there’s usually kids’ birthday parties, but we had an enjoyable time and meal anyway.
