Little India reviews
66 A Nice indian restaurant in Porirua.
Situated in an old stand alone villar on Porirua esatside behind a motel.
Mainly indian cuisine and cocktails, some Chinese influenced dishes.
Garden at the parking space is nice. Over looking Porirua south bound motorway.
Lovely warm welcome from all the staff, treated kindly and with respect Food was amazingly super fast, a perfect blend of spice for my pallet and very filling for those that have travelled and are starved. I would brinv my family back with me next time!
Food was disgusting. Staff were polite enough.
The vegetarian starter platter for two consisted of what looked and tasted like supermarket-bought food. The texture of the Samosas felt like eating a brick.
Then we got the mains.
My chicken Madras was as far from a Madras as it could've been. To make matters worse about 50% of it was oil. I could literally dip my spoon in and fish out a spoon full of oil just from the top alone.
Staff were informed and they made a new curry, which is why this place is receiving 2 stars. Sadly the new curry was tasteless and overall not very pleasing to eat.
Sorry Little India, but you need a new chef.
P. S: The drink sizes are tiny here. Most other Indian Restaurants we go to give you double the amount.
Great Venue and excellent food. We had a large group and ordered a variety of dishes. They were all really tasty. We had prompt friendly service and did not have to wait long for our meals. We will be back.
Awesome awesome awesome! The food is great, and it's always even better with good company. Thank you for the awesome Little India.
This place is my go to Indian restaurant among all Little Indias and other Indian restaurants. Consistency is the key in food business, they always fulfill it. Friendly service, lovely home like ambience. Thank you guys.
30 min wait and got my order wrong.ordered kadai lamb and got chicken tikka misala had to wait another 15 mins for me kadai lamb.frendly fullas tho
Food is ok but they never answer the phone. It's almost the same experience as calling an Indian call centre where they put you on hold and make you listen to Bollywood music.
I have had many curry's, however this is by far the worst I've ever had. It was absolutely disgusting. Each to their own taste thou. Tulsi all the way.
I have had many Indian curries, this has got to be the worst place to get it from. It was absolutely disgusting.never again. Each to their own taste though.
Will not be Ordering from them again, made my husbands mild korma so spicy it was inedible and my curry only had 4 small pieces of paneer in the whole thing when we made a complaint they said they would give us a credit for one of the dishes only and would not offer a refund even if we brought the food back in.
I have been a regular customer for a long time and usually get a take away 2-3 times a week. The order is never ready at the given pick up time. And if by chance today it was ready on time, I got home to find out that I was missing my naan breads from the order. If I was to wait another 10-15 minutes every time i turned up, what is the point of having the online order service?
Extremely disappointed with the service. Never coming back to your restaurant again.
It was my fst visit to L. India and got nice food and awesome service by all front team especially Harmeet singh
Would give them 0 stars, but have to give 1 to be able to put a comment. Worst service ever. Can not believe these people are in hospitality industry?
Naan was raw and when I mentioned it to the worker, they gave an explanation of how they had to go through another supplier rather than making us a new one. Also the malai kofta was too salty and watery. Wouldn’t go back again
Been here a few times went with some family on their last day in New Zealand, staff were great as always and the food is always very tasty with good sauce to meat ratio's or vegetable depending on your dietary situation.
Nice little Indian restaurant tucked away behind a motel in Porirua. I have been there 6-7 times and the food has always been good. Nice place for eat-in with family or a few friends or takeaways as you please.
Food and service always good but decor a bit tired. This is a regular for me and Entertainment Book voucher is z bonus
We order Tandoori platter for 2 for $27 and it came in a small container with few pieces of chicken. All different pieces mixed up so badly that you won’t know what is what. I was regular customer but really disappointed with this order.
I really like the food and the venue, but the staff are slow, don't check up on the table, and the Manager has instructed the servers not to give anyone water until they have ordered. There is no AC in the restaurant so when it's hot outside, its hot inside. It's only right to give people water while they decide what they want from the menu especially when it's so hot. Service is a large part of the restaurant business, but seems like they do not know that.
