Allied Pickfords

We recently used Allied Pickfords to move our family home from Auckland to Taranaki. Des and the Auckland-based team were excellent to deal with through-out the moving process - from the initial consultation to the move itself. The team were efficient, friendly, respectful and helpful and we would absolutely recommend as the 1st choice to anyone

While their initial packing and inventory work was solid, upon arrival at our destination, our possessions weren't exactly 'cared for' - there was a little too much haphazard unloading and tossing of boxes; two high-end computer monitors were damaged, bike pedals went missing, and a few plates broke. Additionally, we were left with over 30 empty boxes (and their paper packing) and an incredibly vague 'just call head office to get them picked up' - of course, head office have absolutely no idea what we're talking about when we call. The online tracking of the container from one country to another was never updated - until two weeks after our container arrived and we were awash with boxes to unpack.

That said, a friendly crew at both ends, and it was reassuring to have our container go via one company versus nine.

I used Pickfords to move a vehicle and a camping trailer from Perth to Tauranga. Perth office were great. Efficient, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, some of the equipment for the camping trailer went missing in Tauranga and the Tauranga branch were really unhelpful. Apart from not keeping me updated on where my freight was, when I discovered the missing equipment, they flatly denied any involvement, refused to communicate with me about it, even hanging up when I rang. I would never use these guys again. No response to my complaints to the Tauranga and Hamilton office and they flatly lied to their Australian office, denying that a customs inspection when there is a customs sticker on the trailer with the agents name on record.

The guys you sent to remove my possessions have just left. I told them, but I must tell you and please ensure this gets back to them, to their manager and anyone else who should know.they were absolutely fabulous in every way. On time, courteous, polite, clean, organised, helpful and obviously knowledgeable. That was for starters. They did their utmost to ensure everything made the container right up until the last items that were pretty much up against the door.

I cannot speak more highly of them. Along with Patrick Bell, who initially gave me my quote, conversing a number of times with you on the phone and with your guys today I must say I have an excellent service from Allied Pickfords. If the second half of this move is as good as I've experienced so far I will be blown away.

Amazing service from first point of contact, to home consultation and uplift. Everyone we have had contact with has been awesome and made for a very stress free day for our family. Would happily recommend this service to everyone.

I choose Allied Pickfords to move to Christchurch because they had a great rep (Patrick) and their insurance was miles better than any of the others. They were great, turned up on time, very good packers and not a single breakage and arrived when promised. All I wanted!

I chose Allied Pickford's for my move and I loved them! The guys were so helpful packing my things and putting them into storage which was very handy while I was still house hunting! Allied took the stress out of my move and really cared for me and my family during this stressful time. Will 100% use them again.

Don't even deserve a star! Worst movers ever and would NEVER recommend, brand new lounge suite ruined, legs snapped off couch, antique display cabinet leg broken, boxes that had FRAGILE were still thrown as a pass the parcel, dinner set smashed, disgusting customer service, Tauranga manager advised, told would investigate and let us know but no call! Lots of damage and they don't seem to care, never ever use or recommend

This was the move out of hell, no Health and Safety. They dented my furniture as it was too heavy to carry. They never brought a truck with a back lift as was promised. They had to load off the heavy furniture from an hight that was above their heads. When I phoned the Branch Manager, he told me that he had no time to listen to my complains at the time and would phone me back, still have had no call from them. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR FURNITURE.

highlight of my YEAR!

Our home belongings arrived from Cape Town, South Africa. Thanks to Chris, Willie and Cookie who demonstrated the utmost professionalism in transferring our goods into our home. Their great service passed the ultimate endorsement: A happy wife! A rare occurrence indeed!

No problem with movement and receival I had packed myself but because I chose air freight was charged with repackaging which did not occur no damage to property

I was moving from Queenstown to a small beach town in Northland. Verbal quotes varied from $9,000 to $4,800. One company just said 'We're busy that weekend' before I'd even locked in a date.
Allied Pickford were extremely reasonable, kept me informed throughout and were very careful with my belongings. The Dunedin crew packed and an Auckland crew unpacked and put everything where I wanted it. They were really pleasant and professional to deal with. Have already recommended them to others and would not use anyone else in the future.

We absolutely loved the service offered by Allied Pickfords. We have recently returned from Saudi Arabia and have had a smooth transition. The shipping beat us home, and Allied Pickfords were happy to store our goods till we arrived back in NZ. I notified Allied Pickfords that we were ready for delivery and within 2 days all of our stuff arrived and was unpacked in the house. The boys were friendly, on time, super helpful and patient. Thank you for a great experience.

Great Job Team. Nice guys. Experienced and knew what they were doing. Went the extra mile.one chap saw my mother (aged 94) was cold, and helped to move her into the sun where it was warmer.

Could not fault Allied Pickfords during our recent move from Auckland to Whangarei with them, with storage for 2 months as part of the deal. The boys were extremely polite and efficient while maintaining a warm friendly approach for what is unquestionably a horrible experience for most of us.

Entire moving process was a complete shambles!
The Auckland movers arrived to pack our stuff without boxes or packing materials because they weren't told they were packing it, despite us calling to confirm the day before. They broke the lid of our toolbox looking for an Allen key to dismantle furniture because they didn't bring their own tools. They just didn't pack the kitchen or linen cupboard and bizarrely hid one dining table chair in the bathroom so it was left behind.
The truck was packed terribly, things just thrown in and some broken, shame I can't upload photos to this review.
Only real positive was that we had our insurance claim accepted so can repair and replace, but even the insurance paperwork wasn't handled properly by the Auckland office and they had to send us the paperwork after the move when we made a claim.

We had a fantastic experience with Allied Pickfords. Right from the first consultation at home for a quote, far more professional than the opposition. I felt much more comfortable dealing with them. The guys who did the picking up and delivering were both professional, friendly and a lot of fun. They were so excellent with my two kids hanging around too. Everything delivered in one piece and on time. We were very pleased with the cleaning job they did on our house in Auckland too! Thanks guys!

Packers on pick up side in Kuala Lumpur were slow but thorough. Drop off in Auckland the driver took the time to get the truck reversed down a very tricky driveway. That is where the positives stopped though. The unpackers did not unpack a SINGLE box. They unboxed the furniture pieces and I was hurrying the entire time to unpack the boxes and shove into drawers and cupboards while they sat on the tail gate of the truck in between bringing the boxes inside for ME to unpack (the service is supposed to include an unpacking service) The 2 delivery guys just kept complaining about the fact that they didn't have long, yet still found the time to spend majority of it sitting and chatting. They were polite other than that. Days after when i finished unpacking everything properly and putting it away I found that my brand new, still ix ipda was missing. Assume the sticky fingers was on the Kuala LUmpur side as I unpacked pretty much everything myself here. When I complained about the missind ipad i was told nothing could be done as I didn't pay extra for insurance. I will also add that there were 2 pictures that were ruined with broken glass as they were not wrapped at all, didn't even bother to mention those.

Allied Pickfords have moved us to Dunedin and then back to Auckland within the past 18 months and on both occasions we've been really impressed with their service. The teams on moving day and delivery day are friendly and helpful and very professional
