Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen reviews
88Came here on Wednesday night with a group of 25 and we had a great time! James who looked after us and Tom behind the bar were fantastic and made us feel welcome. Loved the shuffleboard too! Will definitely be back
Came here on Saturday 27th of June and had such an awesome time and the music was amazing! Only downside was one of the bartenders - he had a red bandana and was the tallest out of the lot. Since we all first arrived he ignored us, wouldn’t even make eye contact and kept serving people that were waiting in the line way after us. I even waved at him once and he looked at me and ignored me. So we had to keep going to the ladies and they were great super attentive and friendly! Not sure what his problem is but he really brings the bar down. Cheer up butter cup
This whole team and owner has something going on that other places only wish they did. Amazing customer service, food, entertainment and each event here has been fantastic for my business and mental health. Five Stars!
Reasonable selection of food, good range of drinks. Spacious modern environment, friendly staff and had nothing to complain about.
The food is a little pricey for the quantity that gets offered. Beers are really good and the ambience is good too. Perhaps they could do something to get rid off so many flies in the outdoor seating area.
Hosted my 21st here, they were so amazing! I didn't have to do a thing - they completely looked after me.they cleaned everything for me and even packed away all of my leftover things.the staff were incredibly friendly and so helpful, everyone was always willing to lend a hand! 10/10 would reccommend + the food is to die for:) (espesh the pizza and fried chicken)
Wish there was an option to give no stars - politely asked the bouncer if I could stand under his umbrella for a hot minute while I waited for my Uber, which he replyed ‘Nah’ to and reasoned it with ‘just coz’. Not a first world problem but doesn’t cost a thing to be nice to someone. Judging by the other comments here, I am clearly not the first to experience issues with these bouncers. Sounds like a staff meeting with some ‘budget cuts’ needs to be held. Will 100% not be returning.
Came here for a group event. Staff were rude and the service was slow. Food was brought out when majority of the people had left. The home brews were so blend, tasted like it was just mixed with water! When questioned about this, was advised this is what a cider tastes like instead of being apologetic.
Found this spot for lunch, great food, great beverages, great people, would definitely recommend. The battered gerkins were a taste sensation!
Average would be an overstatement, Fish Burger special looks nothing like pictures on the special board, litterally two burnt pieces of toast with 1 lettuce leaf and some dry deep fried fish.
Really rude bouncers before you've even entered. Nice bar but why would you want to spend your money in a place where you get welcomed by a horrible person. It sets the tone for a bad environment. Brew Bar you need to sort your door staff out
Playlist = early 000s rnb yet the bouncer spend most of their shift chasing men around to enforce a STRICT no hat policy!
Super friendly staff, the bouncers were so kind and looked out for us at the end of the night as we waited for our ubers.the bartenders were awesome and the drinks were yum! The music was sick and overall the place had really fun atmosphere deffo found my new favourite spot in akl!
Would recommend visiting on Fri nights to catch the live band. Food, drinks, customer service is consistent each week.

This beautiful restaurant is located over Sale Street and can be easily spotted on the roadside from a moving vehicle in normal traffic.
Convenient location and easily accessible.
Well managed and nicely maintained. Spacious and comfortable seating. There is dedicated hall for group celebrations.
One end of this restaurant is kept for indoor sports including pool and table tennis.
Excellent and soothing ambiance.
Plentiful food options including many vegan and vegetarian ones. For big groups, menu can be customised and order can be placed in advance.
Food is delicious and comes with good presentation. Their pizzas are awesome.
Amiable and friendly service delivered with a smile. Pleasant and cheerful staff.
Table service. Outdoor seating is available.
Good for big groups, celebrations, family and kids.
Reservation can be made in advance and is recommended for big groups.
Could not notice wheelchair accessible seating or high chair in plain view.
There is no dedicated parking area available although ample street parking can be found around the entrance. Entrance is wheelchair accessible.
Enjoyed the experience.
Very disappointed, I was wishing for a better experience. The bacon was harder than a rock and was uneatable and everything was completely over priced for the small portions served. I found a cockroach in the bathroom ewww
Absolutely apalled by the security staff (bouncer with the chin beard) and they way they treated my diabetic partner on new years eve. He decided to deny her entry because she was using the hand rail as support wile we waited in line (aparently this means youre drunk so if you're planning to get in dont touch the hand rail) followed by a bizare simon says style drunk test that took all of 2 seconds as he deemed her too drunk, this was after a passed breath test on the way into the city, we were basically sober. Never mind the drunk iddiots geting out of the taxi and stashing their empty bottles in the bush, not only visablly intoxicated but got in with no trouble. Being a little frail due to a genetic disorder is not the same as being drunk and if your security staff are that incompetent then I'm glad we took out money elsewhere and we will not be returning.
Just as a side note her blood sugar levels were not low which can produce dunk like symptoms.
Due to this experience it's a clear 1 star review from us. Hire better security staff.
Edit: browsing the comments it appears there is a systemic issue with security staff, our experience was pretty tame, hopefully the business owners get onto this as they are losing customers and bad news travels. Until the security staff issue has been addressed by management, stay away.
Got kicked out of the bar for having a rest and leaning against the wall while talking to mates. Got no other explantation other than "I'm leaning against a wall" while I was with a group of us. Pathetic.
I’ve never experienced such a place where they treat adults as children. We were accused of pushing drugs when we went to get our jacket from the car. And then a pregnant mother of our group was kicked out for being tired at the bar. The security were unwilling to let her stay. We were there for a birthday celebration since 4pm. Second time at that venue. Never again.
The bar staff were very good the door people were unwelcome and ASSULTED ME AND BEAT ME UP AT 12 OCLOCK ON THE 24 OF NOVEMBER. I don't call police because I have love
