Valentines Buffet Restaurant & Bar reviews
80 Its a nice place.very clean but the food is awful. Only they need nice sliced meat not swimming in sauces.
The desserts were ok but a teaspoon of mousse wasnt really worth even taking.staff were very friendy.its just the meat selection i didnt like
Great friendly staff that were on the ball the whole time. Food selection was a bit average but what selection there was, was done beautifully.
Was not happy at all starting with the service! Either they were short staffed or not, poor service with clearing tables, attitudes! Staff just didn't look like they wanted to be there, and of course shows in their manners!
Food well very simple! Advertised with oysters on the website and nothing!
Mussels overcooked rubbery!
Food looked like it had been sitting all day and very dry.
The atmosphere definately wasn't good as it showed in all the workers and especially the food! Most definitely not worth $49!
Sorry but I think some serious decisions need to be made in order to serve good food at that price!
We gathered for a 60th birthday dinner. Food and clearing of dishes was excellent. We had requested a table close to the entrance for Mobility impaired members buttons must have been missed as our reserved tables were well into the restaurant!
This store was average at best, Service was non existent as we went in as a group which we were booked in with atleast two months notice we had to wait outside for them to set-up then when we finally got in to the restaurant our kid's were not allowed too get food untill they were ready.
When we finally were able to get food the sweet chilli muscles were old and rubbery the seafood salad had a funky taste like something was off, The slices of salmon was slimy and off along with the tuna im sure the raw fish was two day's old!
As for the hot food the only thing that was eatable was the pizza chips nuggets and deep-fried fish bits the roast meat was tough and im not sure what the chicken in sauce was but it wasn't nice!
Workers did not look like they wanted to be there the chef looked like he had just come from a dairy farm down the road Overall a bad experience sorry Valentines Rotorua 2 stars at best
I was a regular diner of Fortuna Buffet Restaurant at Sky Tower in Auckland because they serve unlimited Oysters.
I was so thrilled when I saw the ads that this Valentines buffet restaurant serves Oysters in Christchurch.
I rang them a week before and asked if they serve Oysters, I was assured that they are serving Oysters every day at dinner time. I booked at least a week before and the first slot for 5: 30 pm.
Only to be disappointed that I haven't even had a single oyster. Was told that the stock didn't arrived on that day.
I never made a negative review before. It was so disappointing, I told the cashier that the reason why we were there is because of the Oysters.
Wasn't too happy about it, I just felt that it was a ripped off for the price I paid.
I took my grandson who is 18 month old for dinner. I was given a $64 bill, which I thought was steep since it was just the two of us.
When I inquired how much for baby and the guy told me $18, I almost fell over.
What justifies charging a baby that's hasn't been on this earth for 2 years such a price tag?
I'm sure the proprietors or manager must know there is no way any baby under 2 can eat $18 worth of food.
Are they intentionally charging such exorbitant prices for babies under two to inflate their own egos by being nothing but money hungry greedy sods?
I used to in the past be a regular patron of Valentine's with my whole family which because I am from Rotorua born and bred number over a few thousand family members.
After tonight's experience, I've been put off from ever returning there again and am glad that my review can be seen by the whole wide world.
You are shameless Valentine, Rotorua.
You're not to the high standard it was when my cousin Kake Kautai was the Manager/Owner of years passed!
You're also stonecold heartless to charge innocent babies under 4 such ridiculous pricing for the wee bit of foods their small stomach can handle.
I hope you go Bust!
Best place I’ve been to in a long time we went for lunch with my family Kai was amazing n service was great to
Went here last week for our daughters 6th Birthday, great price for all you can eat, there were oysters, seafood stuffing great selection, service was great, the staff made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to ensure our 6year old had a Happy Birthday, tables cleared throughout the night, could buy bottomless fizzy that you could help yourself to, and good desert selection, food all tasted fresh and good, the only thing that could be done is the entrance way before you get inside could do with a real good scrub and water blast as first impressions go a long way.apart from that we would definitely recommend and go back.
Prove it is your birthday and you get to eat for free! I tried nearly everything. My highlight of the night was the seafood salad and all of the seafood buffet. The pork ribs and kumara absolutely amazing! Salad bar looked a little bland but was nice to eat. Dessert bar had alot of cream dishes. The tiramisu, mousse and fondue tied up the night well. Servers were courteous. Continuously removed completed dishes through the evening. Parking is small and limited. Park across the road by the wharehouse and walk or on street parking after 6pm.
Lunch was absolutely amazing.the seafood chowder was to die for.two plates.friendly people.clean.lots of food.
Absolutely LOVED IT HERE. The food, the staff, the whole setting, Top tier! I have no faults. My family and I left highly satisfied
Friendly staff but Worst valentines I’ve ever been too. Food was awful apart from two meals they had. Seafood was the only thing fresh. Won’t be coming back
Couldn't fault anything alot of hot food variety the salads and seafood beautiful the ribs and steak on the grill and the desserts plenty of variety didnt feel like cooking tonite defs recommend
The bar tender and waiters that were serving our drinks and clearing tables on Friday 13th were so hospitable. One in particular had a very infectious smile, and it made our food just that little more delectable.
Wow, I wish we had this when our children were young.
Awesome place to celebrate an event for children.
Called in for dinner on a sat evening. Very impressed with the place. We had been a few years ago and there have obviously been some changes. The food was great with plenty of choices and the service was excellent. Our empty plates were removed very quickly. The price is very reasonable for what is offered. Will be back for sure.
What can I say! Fabulous, delicious and great service. Our family loved the whole experience 6 out of 5
When you put love into your food the customers will know. And really there just wasn't any in this food. We had come from Wellington to celebrate my sister's 30th and never again. Food was weird tasting and old if you ask me.i usually take pics of my food but there just wasn't any points. $44 per person wasn't worth it. I wouldn't even pay $20 for that.
Cost me just under $200 for me and my family the food was disgusting the smell of the place smelt of off fish the oysters were old, mussels had no taste, cakes were hard, water was warm, the list goes on. We are not fussy eaters but I will not recommend this place at all to anyone or even any animals.very upsetting. I don't even give them 1 star
