Valentines Buffet Restaurant & Bar

The service was awesome but the fizzy was disgusting and tasted so flat, some of the food had been left out for to long and was so dry or tasted old, the toilets hadn’t been cleaned and smelt so bad…

My family I do not recommend you waste your money going here. We paid over $300 for a family of 7. There was not a great variety of food. The food was cold. The seafood was not fresh. The hot food was dry and old. Desserts were not nice and dry. Fizzy was soda water with no flavour. Majorly overpriced. Definitely not what ValentineWe left feeling very disappointed and ripped off. I was there last night and couldn’t believe what $44.could buy.
After looking around to the very basic small selection I decided to get a plate and see what I could dig out.
The food was old looking as if it had been made hours before and not kept fresh. The hot dishes had no gloss to them and were grey and lifeless.
The salads were less than average and lacked any love buy a professional chef.
When I sat down I had 1 small bite of 3 items from the hot food selection and these were Lukewarm. As fast as I sat down I left the table and asked for my money back
This restaurant and I struggle to call it that, brings shame on the ones I’ve been to else where in the country that are really worth their money and have chefs and owners that care what they deliver …. I had a great meal at Cobb n Co next door and was more than happy to pay the same ….

If I can give them less than zero, I will not hesitate to do that. Extremely bad, we couldn't eat anything from the main and we were filling ourselves with the icecream which was also seem frozen.

Starters were very cold with no taste, main were extremely bad, the rice was not cooked well.even coffee machine was not working.

I found the buffet meats to be cold and semi tasty, it was a pleasant atmosphere and very quiet. The hostess was awesome, but still I feel a little pricy for the quality and quantity of the food.

Great variety of salad that compliments the yummy creamy fish well, butterchicken and meat is tender. I would say quality of the seafood has declined, also the raw fish had a different taste which can be improved.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful on what flavours and ingredients were used to create the meals, it was wholesome because you could feel the passion of the food they prepare

We chose valentine's Rotorua for our wedding anniversary dinner with our family. The absolutely best meal and service ever. The choice of food was top quality, all credit to head chef Simon and his fellow cooks. Liz and Savita our wait staff were so lovely and helped make our evening. We all had an absolutely fabulous evening, thank you.

If you want something cheap go there, but try to another place if you want a good quality on food

So good interior and service and so poor quality of food, everything except seafood soup and belly pork was not tasty at all, only these two meals were really good. Desserts aren't bad, good choice, most of them were fresh and delicious

Was hot outside so to come into a fresh, and clean restaurant with the air conditioning on was re-freshing, the chefs were polite & helpful steak cooked amazing, desserts were beautiful especially the apple crumble and custard, raw fish was terrible tasted like vinegar, the pizza was beautiful and we'll presented, my 7year old punished the oysters they were devine.
The staff that showed us our table was lovely, due to covid she made sure we were following protocol at all times, emptied our tables when needed to, and greeted us on our way in & just as we were about to leave, her name was Liz, Thankyou Rotorua valentine's for giving us a beautiful exsperience of your restaurant we will be back to dine in again soon.from a happy and full customers from windy wellington.

Nuggets and chips and fish bites they were dry No roast potatoes or roast meat
Alot spicy foods. Had 7 Adults that wete hungry when left.

Price was a little much for the quality of the food. My main dishes were soaked in sweet chilli sauce nearly every dish I chose had chilli sauce in it. Seafood wasn’t very pleasant. Deserts were soggy or wet from freezer, Custard watery. Mac and cheese just wasn’t your normal cheesy taste it tasted like flour and cream.this place needs a new chef/cook. Wouldn’t recommend unless you don’t mind eating bad food for high pricing. Now I wouldn’t mind the price if the food was really good. They’ll be getting a seeeyah from me. Besides the negatives the waitress was nice.

This place is wonderful. It has upped its game from years ago. I think there are new owners. We are celebrating our combined birthdays there tonight again. It is practical because it caters to everyone's preferences. The food is fresh and the service is great. I am from out of town but it has become our go to place when I am up here visiting with family. We have been there a few times now and it has always been an excellent experience.

While aware we are living in Covid times and have to make changes it should not come at the quality of the food. Not only were a lot of the regular foods off the menu they have upped the price! I don’t mind paying more if the food is really good but I feel very let down.
I woke last night with an upset stomach so can only assume it’s from something I ate. I was overcharged $6.17 even with a $2 surcharge for using payWave. I won’t be supporting local again.

Hmmm. Tough one this one. Ok let's start with the good. We went there 4 of us about 2 months ago when there was no restrictions. Food was Briliant. Plenty to choose from, all fresh and the seafood section was a great mix. You could just spoon what you wanted be it prawn cocktail, coconut fish or huge tiger prawns. At $38 it was a well priced meal for such a huge selection. So they do know how to put on a good spread!
Hmm yesterday. Level 3. Gloves and mask required. That's ok. I accept that. The beef strog and butter chicken were standout. The rest shall I just say needed some serious intervention to get right. Serving brandy snaps with fake yellow cream.come on. Dry bread pudding. Lumpy custard. Real chef 101 first year school teaching this. So price is still $38 but this time I'm thinking. I'd rather have spent 50 and ate at one of the many top rated restaurants. There's a huge choice in Rotorua.

Located in the town centre, this franchise has very good food, many different dishes to choose from, and good value for those who have a good appetite and your average family. Staff are super friendly and helpful as well. Definitely will come back.

Booked a table for two for my wife and I for our wedding anniversary. They asked if we would like a balloon and a special dessert.
We said yes to both.
We received neither.

The food itself in the buffet was not that great either.

Only positive, there was hardly anybody there, so it was nice and quiet.
You'd think on a quiet night they'd remember their special guests.

On every single table and even on the signs of the walls they gave the option for you to purchase the special coke glasses your drink for the night comes in. They told us this was wrong and that we couldn't buy them. This is false advertising and clearly illegal. (Attached photo is the false/illegal signage.)
