The Cabbage Tree Restaurant reviews
62Was very disappointed with the small selection of wine available. Without mentioning particular brands could had nicer brands by the single glass.
Passing through pit stop wow what a cool place fantastic atmosphere xo
Excellent service beers ice cold we had the panfried onion rings as I'm severely allergic to fish and most places fry everything in the same oil.
Staff was fantastic in understanding our needs 10/10 for hospitality and service. A must stop for a great feed.
Delicious food and very good service. Very big menu to select from which gives you a wide range of options. They serve the biggest portions in invercargill.
A great meal.
Wide selection of dishes for a table d'hote menu. Along with a well considered wine list.
The dishes arrive well presented along with ample food per portion.
Dining staff are attentive but not intrusive.
Simple decor, with a relaxing ambiance.
Good range of food at decent price. Only thing is the private room we had for our group was extremely hot and could have done with a fan to cool it down.
Thank you so much for hosting our wedding reception.everything was perfect. One of the best meals we have had in a long time.in fact it was probably the best pork belly we have had.
You did an amazing job setting up the reception and the staff were wonderful:)

Always on our list of restaurants to visit when we are down south. Large menu and good sized portions. Try the lamb salad - you won't be disappointed.
This place was amazing, but unsureif the owner and chef have changed. Last three visits where poor one had to get our own drinks and ask for water. No more visits from us from now on.
Menu is much better not the 10 pages it used to be.
Great atmosphere good for kids on sunny days.
The food was up to scratch and would go again as i hadn't been there in a long time.
Great family friendly spot to stop for a meal. We popped in on our way from the Catlins to Te Anau and it was great for the kids to have a chance to run around the playgrounds and trampoline before getting back into the car.
Great food.generous helpings
Pleasant environment
Staff are friendly and courteous.top rate
The cabbage tree used to be one of Invercargill's go to restaurants but i will have to admit we haven't been here for a long time. We did visit aweek or so ago for a surprise birthday and really enjoyed it so hopeful its making a comeback
We had a fantastic meal on Saturday night, our whole table enjoyed their meals. Service was top notch and love the new menu. Will defintely be back!
Great friendly warm service. Great barmaid - thankyou for my Vodka Redbull - my med rate steak meal was faultless. Perfect choice to return to for our 1yr anniversary.
Well done Chef, kitchen staff, bar staff and waitresses.
This place gets very busy, especially on the week end. Had a great meal there, definitely recommand booking a table there and give it a try.
Went for lunch on Sunday. Food was ok but service was terrible, very slow. At one point had to get up and get own drinks from the bar as waitress was nowhere to be seen. 10 minutes after saying we would have dessert we were still waiting on menus. Service has definitely slipped since it changed hands.
Very nice. You'll probably need a booking.very busy. Nice food. Up there on price. Great staff.
Really disappointed. This place was next to our accommodation and we were really looking forward to a nice meal. I ordered the blue cod ($32) and my husband ordered the surf & turf ($45). It came out out and looked nice, but there were bones all through my battered fish and my husband's meal was a lot smaller than mine (even though more expensive), with tough steak and a piece of steelo in it to top it off! We were given a discount after pointing out the piece of metal in the meal (an $8 beer), but we realised after we left we were overcharged. Wouldn't recommend.
Really disappointed in the new no nothing menu.
Food was average and very expensive for a pub meal quality. Used to have a wonderful menu but now nothing worth eating. Had pasta and was watery like soup. Grandson ordered a $25 CHICKEN burger which he chose to keep for later as he had not touched it. We were told thats fine but when we left were told it had been thrown out. No money back no apology just we biffed it out as the waitress forgot.
Never go back again and it was a fav place to go but not anymore. You guys should get your act together. 349 bucks for 6 of us and you could not even take one instruction.
Was a huge menu there the service was great but the meals are pretty disappointing and very expensive I ordered the golden bay crumbed scallops and scallops were over cooked crumb was soft the meal came with salad fries and fresh veges which is weird usually it's salad and fries or fresh veges, was not a great meal. My partner couldn't eat his my son ordered the seafood fettuccine and the sauce was pretty watery their was another table that complained about their steak it was over cooked and gritty not a quality steak and I'd be annoyed when your paying over 40 bucks for some of the meals we won't be going back here again
