The Cabbage Tree Restaurant

Won't go there again. Burger was cold and the bacon was burnt. The girls we were with ordered a bread tray which was served about 30 seconds before the mains.

Had lunch on Saturday, husbands eggs beni pretty good but my veg stack was awful, mashed potato and half cooked carrots mainly, showed no imagination was very disappointing. Some nice vegetables like eggplant, avocado, pumpkin and a tasty sauce perhaps?

Dined last night. A very long wait 50 minutes. Husband's meal was steak was good. I ordered chicken pasta supposed to be in a creamy sauce. Was dry and didn't eat informed staff. They were good and didn't charge. Was disappointed as last time was 3 years ago meal and service was great

Meal had foreign material in it. Ordered nachos and had begun eating it when I spotted what looked like a piece of printed paper about a centimetre across in the topping. They replaced the meal (which was pretty average and poor value for a bar meal at $22). I wouldn’t be going back there.

Was very disappointed. Used to dine here alot as a kid and it was very good then, now went there lastnight fot tea and the service was absolutely hopeless. Waitress only came around once asking if we wanted drinks and never offered us a entree menu or dessert menu, instead we had to ask another waitress for the menus and had to walk up to the bar for drinks. The main meals we recieved were very average and the steaks we had were all cooked over done along with the lame back straps. The hygiene was disgusting at the table where we were sitting and the toilets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. We left pretty disappointed. Won't be going back there in a hurry at all!

Had chicken schnitzel meal, chips cold, tiny wee dry salad in little bowl, chicken dry over cooked, friends meal late, poached eggs raw n cold, her partners ham steak burnt on one side, just over priced average meals very disappointed passed it on to server who said he'd tell the kitchen

Food average. We were a family group and told to keep our noise down because we were laughing. Grandchildren were upset by this, the youngest in tears.

Food was average and very expensive for a pub meal quality. Used to have a wonderful menu but now nothing worth eating. Had pasta and was watery like soup. Grandson ordered a $25 CHICKEN burger which he chose to keep for later as he had not touched it. We were told thats fine but when we left were told it had been thrown out. No money back no apology just we biffed it out as the waitress forgot.
Never go back again and it was a fav place to go but not anymore. You guys should get your act together. 349 bucks for 6 of us and you could not even take one instruction.

Was a huge menu there the service was great but the meals are pretty disappointing and very expensive I ordered the golden bay crumbed scallops and scallops were over cooked crumb was soft the meal came with salad fries and fresh veges which is weird usually it's salad and fries or fresh veges, was not a great meal. My partner couldn't eat his my son ordered the seafood fettuccine and the sauce was pretty watery their was another table that complained about their steak it was over cooked and gritty not a quality steak and I'd be annoyed when your paying over 40 bucks for some of the meals we won't be going back here again

While the staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was a real let down. The Kiwi Steak was mostly seared nicely but was well underseasoned and cooked unevenly, with onion rings that were nicely cooked on the outside but somehow had mystery liquid (im assuming water and oil) pool out once you bit into them, a tiny sad salad, and chips cooked in very dirty oil to the point where they tasted burnt although they were golden. The nachos had some of the stalest chips I have ever eaten and no doubt were very very old, though the meat had nice flavour. My partner had the pub beef schnitzel and as an avid snitty fan was so disappointed that he suggested heading straight out for wicked wings to cheer himself up. His meal also had a very small sad salad and while the snitty had a nice looking crumb he reckons it tasted like it was fried in dirty oil and that the meat almost tasted off. My brother had the vegetable stack which seems to be the winner of the night as he enjoyed it though did think it was underseasoned. The kumara fries (not wedges as listed in the menu) were also reasonably nice. While the restaurant itself is a nice environment and very kid friendly with a lovely team, overall for the price (we paid a bit over $200 for the three of us including 2 cocktails and 2 beers!) you would expect a bit more care to be taken with the food and not to be served incredibly stale nacho chips.

The drinks area had piles of dirty glasses and empty bottles
Several of us had meals with the mushroom sauce, it was foul
I had to phone to get service, and a second round of drinks
I WAS going to book for my 60th early next year but most definitely won't be now
The young waitress Danni was lovely, absolutely no complications about her

My husband and I had lunch today, wasn't busy, yet we had to ask for our order to be taken. Then waited for someone to clear the table, we had food to go, which we had to take out to wait staff. 3 staff members standing around talking loudly. Was a terrible experience, food was good

Food was ok. Unfortunately staff struggled to serve our table. Waited for ages to get drinks and take orders. Weeds a plenty in garden. Lawns needed a cut.

Lovely atmosphere, but sadly staff need to sharpen up and food needs to improve immensely. Section could be tidyed. Such a great venue. Could be a goldmine

Not the best meal and service was poor. One staff member was dashing around trying to do his best to cover for our slack waitress. The place was not busy!

Was very disappointed with the small selection of wine available. Without mentioning particular brands could had nicer brands by the single glass.

This place was amazing, but unsureif the owner and chef have changed. Last three visits where poor one had to get our own drinks and ask for water. No more visits from us from now on.

Went for lunch on Sunday. Food was ok but service was terrible, very slow. At one point had to get up and get own drinks from the bar as waitress was nowhere to be seen. 10 minutes after saying we would have dessert we were still waiting on menus. Service has definitely slipped since it changed hands.

Meals were good, staff were unprofessional talking about other tables infront of everyone, the staff didn't listen to the orders correctly. Also we were a large group and they gave us cards so we could all pay separately and they stuffed that up to so it saved no one anytime any way. Probably wouldn't go back

Found the waiter not very good at his job, didn't receive all of my order, one dish was asked for mushrooms on the side which didn't happen so the order had to be sent back to the kitchen to be redone, long wait for drinks, wasn't very pleasant or professional at all. I believe this waiter will need more training with customer care.
