KK Malaysian Restaurant reviews
70 The service of the restaurant was really bad and the lady took some of our dishes away even though we were not done yet: (
The lady was really rude and it felt like she was rushing us.
The flavour was ok, but afterwards both me and my friends had sore stomachs and diarrhea.
Ordered 2 seafood dishes, absolutely bad, genuinley found 1 baby prawn in my seafood mee goreng and 2 pieces of tofu, maybe the rent is high, either way, do not recommend.go to little Penang! Better enviroment prices and lots of succulent seafood
Definitely not Malaysian food. Very disappointed. Didn't finish our food and left for another restaurant.
Extremely poor service. Very rude older lady. Shouldn’t be in restaurant business. In big rush to get customers out. Food was ok.
Decided to try this place after reading the reviews. I ordered nasi goreng. It was made out of frozen veggies and had no flavour! My husband ordered veggie mie goreng. He said it was fine.
Was OK. Does not live upto the hype. Food somewhat bland, no drinks, very cold and drafty, not a nice place to sit in. Uncomfy.
Ingredients used are cheap and not up to scratch. Compared to places in Auckland that charge similar but have better taste and quality.
I have not been to KK for years but decided to go there as we are craving for curry laksa and heard that they serve best curry laksa in town. When we arrived, they were pretty busy with takeaway and we decided to wait until the counter was cleared and approached the lady to ask for table of 2. Then, she pointed us to sit in a table that has not been cleaned and we just waited near the table firs hoping that it will be cleaned straight away. However, she said that we can sit down first then she would clean the table when she “had the time”. We followed her instructions and took a look on the menu that she gave us. While I was reading the menu, she stood beside me and she said excuse me while pointing at the dirty glasses on the table. I have not been asked like that when I dined in restaurants so I was pretty confused at that time. Then, the guy wiped the table for us (the lady also wiped our table after that and we told her nicely that the guy has wiped the table), gave us water and took our order. We ordered 2 curry laksa (+ roti) and specifically ordered one with less noodle. Then, the lady served the first laksa and we asked whether the laksa that she served was the one with less noodle or the regular one. However, we did not hear her response as she either mumbled or spoke in a very low volume and she just walked away. Few second later, the guys served us another laksa then we asked him that which he had to confirm with the lady. Then, the lady replied that she already told us that the laksa that she served was the one with less noodle.
The food were decent and the guy was quite pleasant but after the service that we got from the lady, we will never come back to KK anymore.
We ordered Sambal Prawns with rice and it turned out more of Sweet and Sour pork taste, maybe they should consider changing the dish's name. We also 2 ordered Roti Chanais, the roti was thick and chewy being slightly under cooked, the Chicken curry that came with it was more of potatoes than chicken.
The food os good, the service was a bit odd but ok.
Food is ok as well. Good price level according to quality and amount offered.
Always enjoy the food, quality is consistent just a bit disappointed we have started doing take out since covid and have watched as they have had to increase the menu price but it seems like less comes out in the dishes.
Got a roti chanai and a beef rendang that was only half filled in the take out container. I feel like a dine in you may get bigger portions
Their Malaysian roti is my absolute favorite! Also would recommend Kung Pao chicken. Sadly, over the years the quantity has decreased with the increase in price.
Cheap, big portion and tasted good. Not the best laksa I have had (probably because I cannot forget the truly authentic Laksa when I was in Malaysia) and not the best atmosphere restaurant but good price decent foods.
Curry laksa was good, roti was not bad.
It was a less comfortable visit. Dining space was quite small, it felt cramped with a big group of diners in it.
Return visit to Cuba Quarter and KK just the same as ever - great.hmm maybe curry could have been creamier with more seafood, but taste was as good as past 25 years.
Yummy spot, casual vibe to grab a quick cheap and tasty meal. It’s a small place with fast service
A great first impression! Colleagues and I went here for dinner when we were in Wellington for WoW and given that it is an absolute nightmare to book dinner during the WoW season (we found out the hard way) we had to venture out to the Cuba Street region, which I have no problem doing. We happened upon this restaurant which doesn't look like much but it has the best beef rendang I've had thus far. Busy staff were still very hospitable and friendly. The restaurant doesn't have the best interior or much of a vibe but my meal made up for it. I'm relieved to find out that there's a branch in Auckland so I don't need to wait until my next trip to windy Wellington to have my beef rendang fix from KK Malaysian!
Nice hole the in wall, no frills Malaysian food. Service is fast friendly and efficient. Great for a quick meal in town.
Got the chicken rendang and there were no vegetables as seen in the photos. It was still delicious though and came out fairly quickly.
