Absolutely hopeless, you can't get hold of anyone, phone just rings and rings then cuts off. Option 2 leave a message but nobody gets back to you. Your a medical provider, step it up!

I agree with other reviewers - the receptionists are appallingly difficult to deal with and unfriendly. We visited from out of town and the nurse we saw said “this isn’t an urgent matter [it was], you need to visit another GP” and sent us off to a Medical Center in another town. They were surprised and said “that’s what they’re there for! We can’t see you for several weeks”.

We have friends who have the misfortune to be enrolled at this clinic. They say the receptionists are always unfriendly and abrupt and will cancel an appointment and will charge a fortune if you turn up a few minutes late, even through no fault of your own. If you can’t expect empathy and understanding anywhere else, you should be able to expect it at a doctor’s clinic. Not so apparently.

Avoid this clinic if you can.

Pre-departure Covid-19 Test WARNING!
- 1st, agree with other reviewers. The receptionist is the last person you want as first point of contact.
- 2nd, I understand the pressures of Covid-19, but we were in contact with Team Med a full week out from a $649 flight to get a family member home to Oz. We were told we'd be contacted with a booking time. 2 days later - nothing. We called again and were told the same thing. 2 days later - nothing. Called 2 more times. Nothing. A little over 48h before the flight we booked online with the clinic opposite Wellington Hospital E. D. Had to drop everything to drive there, toddlers in tow, for an 8pm appointment. We had little choice. $250 for the test, $75 for a 24h turn around.
- The flight left today and we have still not heard back from Team Med.
- We were grateful that we had the means and resources to solve this problem. Not everyone out here does.
- Team Medical, if you can't deliver the service, don't offer it. At $300+ pop, we expected better.
- A note to the weary - perhaps make Team Med your Plan Z instead of Plan A.

Our young son has had respiratory issues since he was born, over the last 2 years he has been admitted to hospital 5 times for the same thing. We regularly need to visit team medical after hours because his breathing issues deteriorate so rapidly and are ALWAYS treated poorly by the reception staff. The doctors that we’ve had at Team Medical are always fantastic and caring for our baby, but the reception staff have always been the opposite. It seems the practice doesn’t care because they continuously have so many horrible reviews.

Discriminates with a new red lane (I think that’s what it’s called) back door entrance for unjabbed and a “special” room to be seen in.
For after hours emergency service, must also phone ahead and inform in “red lane” to be met and let in back door, away from the jabbed to “special” room.

Disgusting. Receptionist and head dr are nasty.

Took someone in a few months ago. He was diagnosed wrong by after hrs staff after telling the dr that what she said was wrong with him was impossible she dismissed it and prescribed wrong meds which put him into hospital a few days later. He was charged 120$ for panadol and ibuprofen and antibiotics which she claimed were to help with one thing but was actually to kill the infection he didnt have which was stated from us with proof from an earlier check weeks earlier. Bunch of muppets.

Great to deal with. During lockdown I got an infection in my finger. The diagnostic was done via a phone call and a couple of shared emails. So easy and great communication.

Receptionist is straight up rude I literally had a remote control stuck in my behind and she didn't even care she thought it was a joke. I think she didn't take me seriously because I am brown.

2 stars only for the kind doctor there, otherwise I will 0 star for this medical centre.
1. The receptionist is not kind at all, and sometime even rude. Always talking to me with a tone like "why don't you know this? " Make me feel like I am stupid.
2. How waiting system works there is ridiculous. Even I booked, I always need to another ~20mins in the lounge, and after that another 15mins or 20mins in the nurse room. Every-time I need to wait around 30mins even booked. PLEASE DO NOT use the excuse that doctor got emergency call. There are some emergence call sometimes surely, but I don't believe they got emergency call every single of the 10 times I was there.

The worse experience. Nurses are rude, service is slow plus turned me away when during covid after hours service while my daughter had a fever simply because she was not registered. AVOID TEAM Medical

This medical center was my last hope of registering with a doctor in Kapiti.
They weren't taking anymore patients on their books for a couple of months but put me on the waiting list and said I could use them on a casual basis and pay accordingly.
But after coming home and reading the reviews about this place, I'm relieved they couldn't take me:) The woman at reception was polite and friendly though.

On sunday evening I suffered a mini stroke my son rushed me to team medical and was asked for $120 and was a 4 hour wait even though there was only 1 person in the waiting room.
We carried on to Porirua and was seen straight away. Team medical is the worst medical services we have ever experienced.

Very unpleasant to deal. Every encounter with this practice was unpleasant. Worst medical practice. No bedside manner, felt like a conveyor belt. The 15 minute consult consists of a nurse for 8 minutes and the Doctor for 7. No follow up on lab results. Sends text message to reschedule surgery. After reading the reviews on here, people quoting identical experiences, I feel like its my own fault for going there and not reading up beforehand.

The administrator who is the first point of contact is an absolute let down to this facility.
After reading the rest of these reviews I can see I'm not the only one who thinks so. I have had a couple interactions where she has been short, however I have brushed them off.
Our most recent encounter was my husband calling to book a general check up. She was utterly rude and clearly didn't care. She told him she didn't understand what he was after then finished with "is this for immigration" - due to his obvious accent giving away that he is an immigrant. Utterly disgusting. What kind of question is that for someone who is asking about a general check up. Not happy at all.

I've been coming here over 5 years and all I can say this place has a lot of work to do. Can never get a app with Dr on the day usually have to book a week out. Can't plan when kids are sick.then we land up in urgent care with a long wait because we are not urgent. Duh I know but my kid is sick and my Dr is fully booked out for a few days. When we do get a app with our Dr she is always 30 min 1 hr late no matter what time of day we book. After 5 years my patients has run out! Let me say the receptionist during the day on the 16/04 at 9am was rude and condesending. Although I have had some nice receptionist but today I guess I've had enough!

Doc was not interested in finding out the root cause of my issue. Felt like they just wanted to give me something that would get me out the door as quickly as possible. I was also misdiagnosed and so it was of no surprise that my prescription medication was not helpful at all in fact K believe it made things worse for me. I only went here once and won’t be going back. Only positive was the receptionist I spoke to was lovely.

I had to use the after hours clinic. The receptionist was very helpful and I was seen immediately. I received great service from the nurse and the after hours doctor, Dr Andrew Deans was excellent. It wasn’t cheap admittedly but as I wasn’t a registered patient there I expected to have to pay more. I couldn’t fault the help I received.

Rude receptionist Julie is her name. Cuts people short, phone manner disgusting. It's like children running a medical centre no organisation rude staff constantly coming back because of errors that your doctors and nurses make. You might as well open up a kindergarten and have some real bloody doctors watch over your staff. I am absolutely disgusted in the service that I have received at team medical I will never recommend this to anybody. You guys are medical centre they are meant to provide professional accurate and good service to your patience haven't seen any of that.

Disgusting Service. I had an appointment booked for 2: 45pm and arrived at 2: 48pm (no exaggeration) to see the nurse. I am 37 week pregnant & the appointment had been booked in advance. Because I was 3 minutes late I was told that there would be a long wait and that I would have to reschule by the incredibly rude receptionist. Unbelievable!
