The workers in the hospital only deserve 5 stars for the way they helped families either through accident or emergency. Always very good staff who went above and beyond when we had our twins. They work overtime all the time with very long shifts. They deserve more in every way.

I went to Waikato hospital last Sunday with severe abdominal pain. They gave me ultrasound, tested my blood and released me after 9 hours of waiting in the reception area with some pain medication. They were well aware of my gallstones but refused to rectify this stating I did not have any acute infection. I was in pain for 6 hours before going to the hospital.

Damn Annoying Helicopter, Annoying Ambulance Sirens, Annoying police Sirens. Too much traffic already on main road.
A hospital blonked in the middle of residential areas.

Why the hell didnt you put it in Te Rapa with so much available land space?

Driving me Nuts! I'm outta here.

This is the worst ED in New Zealand, 8 hour wait time so far, still have not been seen.not many people here. Patient with sepsis whom could hardly walk, in a wheel chair kept going to counter to ask for help an kept getting told to sit back down. 4 hours later many times going to reception and finally got a bed. Many people complaining, was an absolute nightmare, worst experience ever!

I really love it when they only let one parent to see the child after they have had surgery. Gotta love the DHB depriving one parent of their child

Extremely nice nurses, helpful doctors and relatively quick service. Went in for a non emergency appendix removal and only waited 24h to get on the operating table. Lovely food and nice rooms, even compared to some private hospitals

Charge nurse, Simiwe on ward A4 - unempathetic, unprofessional, no compassion, rude and very much in the wrong job. My son was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident and airlifted to this hospital so away from home and support. This nurse has made a really upsetting, difficult time even more so. Will file a formal complaint on her suggestion but as she really didn't care less, it indicates to me that nothing much will be done about it.
Jade on ward M17 was exceptional, and thank you for the care and support you showed us.

The staff here do wonders considering the work conditions and chronic understaffing. I don’t know what the board are doing to resolve it and I know there’s shortages everywhere right now but even more healthcare assistants would help. The wards are always clear and staff warm and friendly. To the nurses: You guys deserve the world, you’re the best, don’t forget that

Not sure how doctors from Malaysia can get a job in the hospital? Malaysians are not great in this fields. Chinese people are the reason behind Malaysia’s advance in economy.

Malaysian doctors don’t even know how to behave with a patient. This is so sad. Bad behaviour from a doctor is not expected. Even doctor is asking patients what treatments they want! This is strange!

Doctor should know what type of treatment is required for patients. And also noticed that Malaysian doctor’s behaviour is so bad towards African people. So so sad!

The kiwi Indian doctor in the rehabilitation department is rude, unprofessional and lack of respect towards Asian women. He shouted to my mom in room when my grandfather was admitted to hospital (last 3 days of his life). The caregivers r awful, when visitors left, the caregivers don’t even pass water and pills closer to my sick grandpa. I completely have lost hope in this hospital. Please put a camera for your loved ones in this hospital you will know how they are really being treated. Hospital should take feedback seriously!

Werer tansferred from Taranaki, ended in ED due to a possible miscommunication between shifts in department I was supposed to end up in. Most ED staff helpful and kind, despite being very busy. By trying to get understand what happened and what would happen next, no one in a position to know/ find out would talk to me. Randepartment direct

Do not go to A&E unless you have absolutely no other option. 12hr wait to be told nothing is wrong, go home. Spoke with Healthline and they were very concerned that I had been discharged while experiencing some of the symptoms I have. Extremely exhausted and in pain, all for a doctor to speak to me in a rude and dismissive way and say the injury that I can feel and am experiencing, doesn't actually exist on the xray, therefore I'm fine and write things in my notes that I didn't even say.
When I'm feeling up to it I will be making a formal complaint about my treatment, or lack of, while at the A&E department

Parking always an issue. On entering the ward I was taken back by one of the nursing staffs abrupt questioning made to me as I informed the gentlemen behind the desk who I was there to visit. My grandson. The nurse was chatting to the young man when I arrived and didnt seem to happy about me being there as I obviously interrupted the conversation. Unreal.if you dont want to be there then leave. It is so disappointing to see nursing staff who dont enjoy their work. Granted its not for everyone. So why not leave that vocation and find something else that will make you happy because then that would make us happy.
