Waikato District Health Board reviews
79Staff are brilliant doing their best at all times. Have travelled 2 hours to be here at 8am and my husband not seen until 4pm. Then travelled 2 hours back. That can be frustrating for sick people.
Worst experience ever. Poor managment as well as lack of staff. Nobody is concerned. Moreover, none of the staff member will make you feel comfortable and no co-ordination between midwives, nurses and doctors. If, you are going to deliver in hospital then be prepared because you might have to wait for a long time and none of the staff member will try to make you comfortable and no one will make an eye contact because for them you don't even exist. They will ask you out to give space to other person and they don't have manners that you are having your meal.
Due to lack of co-ordination they will ask you same question related to your health again and again (wake up!), instead of irritating a patient all you have to do is read the report which was made at the first place. Therefore, you can save everyone time and if you have something new to ask then you can get to the point.
Foreigner staff care about the patient more than the local staff. Atleast, they look after you not at the clock or your ethnicity.
Had to get back surgery a few days ago my surgery was great! However the after care was not that great the nurse (most of them) and doctor we lovely people. However, it’s very understaffed. Sadly that’s how it is. Food is not great but it is what it is.
Has or go there again a few days afther I got discharged and it took a long time more then 5 houses to her basic care. Whel chairs where not that available.
It’s a great hospital but really under staffed.
Still a great place if u need it.
I have been an inpatient a couple of times the year and a number of outpatient visits. The staff and the doctors and nurses provide an excellent service.
My husband had a small procedure done in theater today, we started off in the Emergency section and then onto the ward, the staff throughout the hospital were super friendly, the facilities were amazing, we were blown away by the experience! A huge thumbs up and a big thank you to everyone!
My stay at Waikato hospital was made 1000x better by my lovely nurses up in ward 8? Anna thank you for your attentiveness and gentle nature! From mrs Allan (one with the smiley baby)
It is a scary hospital. The nightmares start in the carpark building where any vehicle larger than a bicycle will struggle to traverse around the tight bends and narrow lanes. The hospital wait for me was okay, but the waiting experience is not very nice. Its reminiscent of a train in terms of personal space. Architectually, the fracture clinic isnt very nice or new.
My partner was admitted mon morning
He was told operation due to internal bleeding come of farm quard he is still there 72 hours with out food or drink
When asked was bluntly told Nile food or drink.ok can you tell me when is the operation NO.
My 83 year old husband had a badly “smashed” elbow on 30th May and was admitted via an ambulance! He got a final clearance on Wednesday 16th September and we can honestly say from start to finish everyone who has been involved in his care gave the most amazing professional, efficient and pleasant service. Ambulance, Theatre, Ward and Reception ‘C’ staff turned what could have been a horrible experience for someone (who hasn’t been a hospital patient for 36 years), into one of calm and consideration. Thank you all Kia Kaha
A horrid experience at Waikato Hospital. So any foreigner workers who don't know common sense and struggle with English. Even some of the Social workers who are suppose to "help" they are just as useless, lack of information and consideration. If I could give below a zero, it would be far in the negatives. My relatives experienced nurses who spoke disgustingly about them and made front of them and threw assumptions. For every 1 great nurse, HCA and doctor, there's always 5+ useless grubs. The DHB needs an overhaul of the money grabbing useless scrubs. What a let down.
Doctor's here Need to Take chronic Pain
Seriously, and The W, D, H, B Needs Sacking, I'm So Tired of seeing Great Nurses and Good Doctors under unnecessary pressure,
Absolutely terrible palstic team denided seeing me even with a referral from my gp. Doctors in Ed couldn't even find a vaine to do blood's. Talk about useless.
I'm going to take it up wtthe health boatdy
I just wanted to give a huge amount of thank you to the staff in ICU. My mum was flown to Waikato from Hawkes Bay tonight for an emergency operation. I contacted the hospital from Melbourne Australia for an a update which they couldn't provide as she was still to arrive. After the surgery they got my phone number from mum and called me with an update and let me speak to her. They were amazing and will keep me updated daily with her progress. The amount of relief you have given me is irreplaceable. Thank you for all you do. I know mum will be looked after and is in good hands. You're amazing
Some of the people there didn't know what they were doing. Like the Indian lady that gave me the wrong medicine and made me worse! If I have to go back there reporting that curry idiiiot
I had surgery to clear my sinuses. All the staff were professional and polite. The food was good and tasted nice. I enjoyed my short stay.
My son Frank was admitted to A&E on 23 Jan pm, busy but those nurses had it organised and graciously apologising for the delay. My son was taken through to resus seen by Reg Meera fantastic communication from her, put us at ease.
Step down to kids place looked after by nurse Sarah who was also a great communicator.
Best place for accidents and emergencies.
Shocking A&E, Don't go there unless you absolutely have to. I did need to OMG Words can't describe this third world hospital.
My mother who has serve arthritis in left shoulder and has pain it is still waiting for a steroid injection under ultra sound.surgery isnt an option. YOU guys are so cruel keeping a 78 year old waiting months (since being seen in april!) In pain
My son's appointments are nearly always on time. I feel the staff are thorough and knowledgeable and always friendly. Really nice place and I don't feel like avoiding visits.
